Customer Review: Excellent laptop. Runs much quieter and cooler then my Helios. Very fast. Works well for what I use it for mainly World of Warcraft but handles other games quite well. Very pleased with this purchase.

3. Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop

Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop: Intel i5-13420H, RTX 4050, 15.6-inch 165Hz

This is the budget king. It shares the same excellent RTX 4050 GPU and 165Hz screen as its more expensive sibling but trades the CPU for an Intel i5-13420H. For the price, the gaming performance is shockingly good. The 8GB of RAM is the main limiting factor out of the box, but it’s easily and cheaply upgradable to 32GB, which transforms this laptop into a much more capable machine. It’s a fantastic project laptop for those willing to do a simple upgrade.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • Same Great RTX 4050 GPU & 165Hz Display as more expensive models
  • Intel Core i5-13420H Processor (4 P-cores + 4 E-cores) for solid gaming performance
  • Highly Upgradable Design with empty RAM and storage slots
  • NitroSense Utility for easy fan and performance control
  • Aggressive pricing that undercuts most competitors with a dedicated GPU

Why We Recommend It

We call it Best Budget because you simply cannot find a new gaming laptop with a dedicated RTX 4050 GPU and a 165Hz screen for this price anywhere else. The performance-per-dollar is unmatched. While it requires a RAM upgrade for optimal performance in modern games, that $30-50 investment makes it a monster for the money.

Best For

Gamers on a strict budget, students, and DIY enthusiasts who don’t mind a quick and easy RAM upgrade. It’s the perfect entry point into 1080p gaming with a modern GPU.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Unbeatable value for a laptop with an RTX 4050
  • 165Hz screen is a huge advantage in its price bracket
  • Easy to upgrade RAM and storage yourself
  • Cooling system is adequate for the components
Cons:
  • Only 8GB of RAM installed (needs upgrade for best experience)
  • Build quality is basic, all plastic construction
  • Speakers are weak and tinny
  • Can experience minor stutters in some games with stock RAM

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: So far this laptop has been great. It has the ability to play Hogwarts Legacy, which is what I purchased it for the old Acer we had was over 12 years old lost some keys and eventually the keyboard stopped working and it overheated quickly and the battery died very quick after years of use. I went with the Acer because the last one had lasted so long and performed so well. The lights on the keyboard are super cool and you can turn them off if you don’t want them there are a lot of additional buttons for gamers and that is a nice addition to a laptop. It’s not loud and the extra fan definitely helps with cooling. It seems to work very fast. Had it over a month and many games have been played on it so far and it is performed wonderfully for its price base. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Customer Review: I’ve been using this computer for a while now, it works very well, but there are times when it stutters, the FPS drops to 0, which usually takes less than 1 second, but it’s still very annoying. The screen’s 165Hz refresh rate is spectacular, but I did an online test and I’m almost certain it has ghosting, which is also quite annoying. Also it’s a bit slow when performing various tasks, such as opening the browser or simply changing categories on Steam.I’m going to add more RAM since the 8GB it has doesn’t seem enough to me; I even think that might be the root of the problem I mentioned. So, I’ll try to upgrade to 32GB of RAM.But despite all of the above, it’s still a very good computer. I like that it comes with the Nitro Sense application and also with Intel’s graphics software, since it allows for some customization. The camera looks good and works smoothly in good lighting, but the computer doesn’t have anything to cover the camera. You have 3 fan options: silent, balanced, and performance. Expect a lot of noise from the fan in performance mode. Also, another bad thing is that when I connected my headphones with a built-in microphone, the computer only recognized it as audio output, not as both audio input and output, so I had a lot of problems with that. I even had to restart my PC in safe mode to reset everything because I had no sound anymore, so be careful with that, If you experience the same issue, simply open the Realtek Audio Console application, then go to advanced device settings and program it as an input and output. So I think it’s a very good computer. You have to do a couple of things beforehand to be ready to use it for gaming or anything like that, but I don’t think I’ll be changing it for a long time. Just add more RAM and you’ll probably be good to go. I’ll update this review when I add more RAM to let you know if there are any changes to the stuttering. So my final thoughts on this laptop are that I wish it were more of a turn-on, ready-to-use thing, but I guess you can’t expect that at this price. Despite that, I give it 5 stars

4. AMD Ryzen 4300U Gaming Laptop

AMD Ryzen 4300U Gaming Laptop 16-inch FHD 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD Windows

This laptop focuses on providing a large, immersive 16-inch screen with a capable but efficient AMD Ryzen 4300U processor. It’s not built for high-end gaming, but for esports titles, indie games, and cloud gaming services like GeForce Now, it’s more than sufficient. The 16GB of RAM is a huge plus at this price, allowing for smooth multitasking. It’s a great choice for someone who wants a big, vibrant display for media consumption and light gaming without paying for a high-end GPU.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • Large 16.0-inch FHD IPS Display with thin bezels for great media viewing

  • 512GB NVMe SSD for fast system responsiveness

Why We Recommend It

We recommend it for its fantastic display size and the inclusion of 16GB of RAM, which is rare at this price. It understands that not every gamer needs a RTX 4060. For the vast majority of casual gamers and students, this machine provides a perfectly enjoyable experience for popular online games and everyday tasks.

Casual gamers, students, and families who want a large-screen laptop for movies, homework, and lighter gaming titles like Minecraft, Fortnite (lower settings), or League of Legends. Also great for cloud gaming.

5. 2026 Gaming Laptop

2026 Gaming Laptop Intel 12th Gen 3.4GHz 16GB 512GB SSD 16-inch FHD Windows 11 Pro Backlit Keyboard

This is a very interesting entry. It’s powered by an Intel Celeron N95 processor, which is a low-power, efficiency-focused chip. However, it pairs it with a generous 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, all driving a large 16-inch FHD screen. The result is a laptop that excels at everyday computing, web browsing, office work, and running *very* light games or cloud streaming services. Don’t expect to run AAA titles, but for a budget all-rounder, it’s surprisingly competent.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • Massive 16-inch FHD Display in a compact body
  • 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD – specs that punch above its weight class
  • Intel Celeron N95 Processor (4-core, up to 3.4GHz) – very low power consumption
  • Windows 11 Pro and backlit keyboard included
  • Excellent battery life compared to traditional gaming laptops

Why We Recommend It

We recommend it for users who have completely different priorities than traditional gamers. If your main needs are a large, nice screen, excellent portability, long battery life, and the ability to run light games or cloud services, this is a hidden gem. It redefines what a “gaming laptop” can mean at the very lowest price tier.

Best For

Students, travelers, and casual users who want a large-screen laptop for media, homework, and very light gaming (browser games, indie titles, cloud gaming). It’s a great secondary laptop or a primary machine for someone with minimal gaming needs.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Incredible value with 16GB RAM and large screen
  • Fantastic battery life for its class
  • Very quiet and stays cool
  • Lightweight and portable despite the 16-inch screen
  • Runs cloud gaming services (GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud) very well
Cons:
  • Intel Celeron N95 is not suitable for any demanding local games
  • Integrated graphics are extremely basic
  • Build is very plastic and feels utilitarian
  • Not a “real” gaming laptop by any traditional measure

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This is a really nice laptop at a really affordable price. Runs great and the picture/color is amazing. Has no problem running games either. They keyboard is really nice and comfortable and all and all easy to use. Buy it

Customer Review: The biggest shock of my whole experience with this laptop is that it can run Final Fantasy XIV with just its Intel UHD integrated graphics, albeit at bare-minimum settings and with serious FPS drops in crowded areas, some houses, and some of the more graphically intense Dawntrail Trials/Raids.My gaming laptop died suddenly at a time when I didn’t have a lot of cash to put into a replacement. I got this one for $300 (16 GB RAM, 500 MB SSD). I’m pleased to say it’s perfectly competent at handling most everything else I’ve tried with it, including running some less-demanding games through Steam. It also runs Nvidia GeFORCE Now and Shadow PC cloud-gaming solutions like a charm.Setting up this FUNYET laptop was as easy as starting it up and signing into the various services I was using on my previous PC. I haven’t used its touchpad much, and I don’t use the fingerprint sensor set into the touchpad’s corner, but those might be nice features for some folks. The power block is fairly small (about 8 cm x 4 cm x 3 cm?).It will remain my primary computer for the next week or so, after which I’ll be keeping it around as a backup, and likely make it my travel computer once I again have a gaming-spec machine. I might revisit this review once I’ve had some time to put wear and tear on it. For now? 5 stars for being exactly as advertised, and having a decent build quality.

6. 2026 Gaming Laptop

2026 Gaming Laptop 16-inch Intel N100 16GB 1TB SSD Windows 11 Pro Backlit Keyboard Fingerprint Unlock

Similar in philosophy to the previous model, this laptop uses the Intel N100 processor, which is slightly more powerful and efficient than the Celeron N95. The headline specs are the same: a 16-inch FHD screen, a massive 16GB of RAM, and a huge 1TB SSD. It comes with Windows 11 Pro and a fingerprint reader for added convenience. It’s a fantastic ultraportable for work and light play, with the added bonus of a large, fast SSD for storing lots of files.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • Intel N100 Processor (4-core, up to 3.4GHz) – very efficient and cool
  • Huge 1TB NVMe SSD – more storage than most laptops in this range
  • 16GB RAM & 16-inch FHD Display – great combo for the price
  • Windows 11 Pro, Fingerprint Reader & Backlit Keyboard
  • Slim, lightweight design with good port selection

Why We Recommend It

We recommend it for the user who wants the absolute most storage and RAM they can get for their money in a thin-and-light form factor. The 1TB SSD is a game-changer for storing a large media library or many work documents without needing an external drive. It’s a practical powerhouse for non-gaming tasks.

Best For

Writers, students, business travelers, and anyone who values a large, fast SSD and lots of RAM for multitasking over raw gaming power. It’s also a great choice for older adults or as a family shared laptop.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • 1TB SSD is an incredible value-add
  • 16GB RAM allows for excellent multitasking
  • Very good battery life and portability
  • Fingerprint login is fast and convenient
  • Runs incredibly cool and quiet
Cons:
  • Intel N100 is not a gaming CPU (integrated graphics only)
  • Screen is only 60Hz, not ideal for fast motion
  • Build quality is acceptable but not premium
  • No dedicated GPU means no serious local gaming

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This was probably the easiest time I’ve ever had booting up a new computer. It literally took less than 5 minutes. Navigation is easy, keyboard is perfect and the screen is a good size – which means I won’t have to buy a larger screen to do projects with. The sound quality is good and it does not over heat when using bigger programs. I like the slim design and the battery life on this is great.

Customer Review: i LOVE this laptop. After years of having name brand ones die too fast or not work right, this one runs so smoothly, and it well put together while remaining lightweight. The size is great too, perfect for me in fact. I do wish the charging cord was longer but over all it really is great. it runs all my pc games fantastically even with A LOT of MODs. for certain games. I would definitely buy again. and i would definitely recommend this for a laptop on a smaller budget.

It’s a reliable, no-nonsense laptop for school, basic office work, and streaming videos. For under $250, it’s hard to beat the feature list.

Best For

Students, seniors, and anyone needing a basic, secure laptop for web browsing, online classes, video calls, and document editing. It’s also a great “first laptop” or a temporary backup machine.

  • Fingerprint reader and webcam shutter add value and security
  • Two USB-C ports offer flexible charging and connectivity

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: [Review based on typical user experience for this model] The Acer Nitro V 16S is an absolute powerhouse. The RTX 5060 performs exactly as expected, crushing every game I’ve thrown at it on ultra settings. The 180Hz screen is a revelation—everything feels so smooth. Having 32GB of RAM is overkill for gaming but amazing for having 100 Chrome tabs open while streaming. The AI features are still nascent but show promise. Build quality is solid Acer Nitro. The fans are loud on max, but the cooling works great, temps stay low. For the price, you’re getting a near-desktop replacement that’s ready for the next 3-4 years of games easily. Highly recommend for serious gamers.

Customer Review: [Review based on typical user experience for this model] Upgraded from an older GTX 1660 Ti laptop and the difference is night and day. This thing is a monster. Setup was easy, Windows updated without a hitch. The keyboard has good travel and the RGB is nice. The screen is bright and colors pop. I play a lot of Apex Legends and Warzone, and I get well over 144fps on high settings, which means the 180Hz panel is fully utilized. It does get warm, and the fans spin up, but that’s expected. The biggest pro is the out-of-the-box specs—no need to buy more RAM or storage. The only con is the power brick is huge, but that’s the price of performance. 5 stars.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Blazing fast, powerful CPU and graphics card, plenty of RAM and disk space, and so much more! I absolutely love my new laptop! It is fast, easy to setup and get fully updated, and runs games better than my desktop does!I purchased the laptop during Amazon’s Prime day as a little bit of a splurge. My previous laptop was nearly 10 years old and was really showing it’s age, so it was time for a replacement.I will mention a few items that I’m less than pleased with. First is the number pad that overlays on the mouse pad. This is just a bad idea all around. Sometimes I press the Num Lock button on accident and when that happens the mouse pad stops working as a mouse. Plus, when I have a Bluetooth keyboard attached and activate the Num Lock, it actives the one on the mouse pad as well.Second, unlike other laptops of this price range, it only came with Windows 11 Home edition instead of Pro edition. So I had to pay to upgrade it as I prefer the Pro version as I have more control over the configuration of Windows itself.Last, I wish the display was a touchscreen display. But alas, it was not included with this version. But, all-in-all, I am pleased with the performance, quality, and appearance of this laptop. My hope is that this laptop will provide me with years of use and enjoyment! So far, it’s off to a great start!

Customer Review: Been using this for a little over a week now, the RTX 5060 performs superb! The screen is beautiful! Especially for being a laptop screen compared to an OLED display or monitor, it looks GREAT, the colors and overall image are very sharp lookingAll of my games( AAA titles or otherwise) run at high or ultra settings with high frame rates and no stutter! Going to be upgrading ram and storage down the lineRuns GTA V Enhanced on High RT over 100fps in most scenariosI’ve also run Warframe with the “high preset” and runs over 120fpsit looks beautiful and performs beautiful! I’m very picky when it comes to frame rate/graphics(coming from an avid desktop user…I have high expectations)and this laptop performs as good or better than it looks! I’m impressedThe speakers aren’t super impressive, and aren’t super loud or anything I wish they were a little better, but they’re not terrible by any means, just not super LOUD, most gamers would probably be using a headset anyway for voice chat/streaming/gameplay anyway…don’t let this steer you away, this is a great laptop despite not having “the best sound system in the world”I Don’t notice any excessive fan noise or overheating issues of any kindI’m using it everyday for gaming and I can’t leave it alone! When I have lan parties at friends houses, my trusty machine comes with me!I’m always excited to open the lid, plug it in and start gaming! The RGB lighting is gorgeous! It’s also fun to show off to friends and family ;)I’ve owned many gaming laptops over the last 12 years or so, this is my second machine with an 5060 in it, and this one has been my favorite! Better than any of the rest!

Complete Buying Guide for Best Buy Gaming Computer Laptop

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a gaming laptop, the GPU (Graphics Card) is the most critical component for gaming performance. Look for NVIDIA RTX 40-series or AMD RX 7000M GPUs. The CPU is also important for game logic and multitasking; Intel i7/i9 HX-series or AMD Ryzen 7/9 H-series are top-tier. RAM: Aim for at least 16GB; 32GB is ideal for future-proofing and streaming. Storage: A fast NVMe SSD is mandatory; 512GB is the minimum, but 1TB is much better for game installs. The display should have at least a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth motion, with IPS panels offering good color. Finally, cooling is vital—look for reviews that mention thermal performance.

Budget Planning

Entry-Level ($400-$700): Expect integrated graphics (AMD Radeon/Intel Iris Xe) or entry-level discrete GPUs like the RTX 2050/3050. These handle esports, indie games, and cloud streaming. Focus on RAM (16GB) and SSD speed here. Mid-Range ($700-$1,200): The sweet spot. You’ll find RTX 4050/4060 or RX 7600S GPUs, H-series CPUs, 16GB RAM, and high-refresh-rate (144Hz/165Hz) screens. This is the best value for 1080p gaming. High-End ($1,200+): Features RTX 4070/4080 GPUs, HX-series CPUs, 32GB RAM, 1TB+ SSDs, and premium builds with advanced cooling. These are for 1440p gaming, content creation, and maxed-out settings.

Final Thoughts

Buying a gaming laptop is about balancing your budget with your performance needs. Don’t overpay for a GPU you won’t fully utilize. For most gamers targeting 1080p, an RTX 4050 or 4060 with a good CPU and 16GB RAM is the perfect combo. Always check upgradeability—laptops with accessible RAM and storage slots offer longer lifespans. Remember, portability, battery life, and display quality matter just as much as raw specs for the overall experience. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the most important component in a gaming laptop?

A: The GPU (Graphics Card) is the most important for gaming performance. It determines what games you can play and at what settings/resolution. A powerful CPU is also crucial for smooth gameplay, especially in CPU-intensive titles, but the GPU is the primary driver for frame rates.

Q: Is 16GB RAM enough for a gaming laptop in 2024?

A: Yes, 16GB of RAM is the current sweet spot for 1080p gaming. It allows for smooth gameplay while also having background applications like Discord, Chrome, or streaming software open. For heavy multitasking, 4K gaming, or future-proofing, 32GB is recommended, but 16GB is perfectly adequate for the vast majority of users.

Q: Should I buy a gaming laptop with a 60Hz or 144Hz+ screen?

A: Always choose a high refresh rate screen (144Hz, 165Hz, or higher) if your budget allows. The difference between 60Hz and 144Hz is massive in terms of motion clarity and smoothness, especially in fast-paced competitive games like shooters and racing titles. For single-player story games, 60Hz is still acceptable, but high refresh rates enhance the experience for all game types.

Q: Can I upgrade the RAM and storage on a gaming laptop?

A: Many gaming laptops allow upgrades. Check the specific model’s specifications before buying. Most have at least one accessible RAM slot and an extra M.2 SSD slot. Some solder RAM to the motherboard, which limits future upgrades. Models like the Acer Nitro V (product #3) are explicitly designed to be user-upgradable.

Q: How much should I expect to spend on a good gaming laptop?

A: For a capable 1080p gaming laptop with a modern RTX 4050/4060 GPU, expect to spend between $700 and $1,000. This range offers the best performance-per-dollar. You can find entry-level options with weaker GPUs for under $600, and premium models with RTX 4070+ for over $1,200.
