I did the same thing.I’d never heard of RIG before my wife bought me a wired set for my birthday. They were fantastic. The way these are designed, they keep the weight of the headset off of your head.. The only reason you know these are on is because of your ears. Sound quality, the environmental quality (eg. hear it left, you see it left when you turn left – Positioning, maybe? I dunno.. these are great for “positional hearing”)I put the set my wife bought me on my seat and went to the bathroom.. came back, and sat on em and broke them.. I may have had a few beers.. So, I enjoyed the headset so I looked at current RIG offerings, and came across this wireless set.Now, I’ve been thru the expensive ones, the “popular brand” ones.. and they were all crap. Batteries failed, didn’t last., no distance… whatever. So, I wrote off “wireless” headsets. BUT, with RIG, I was so impressed with the wired headset I sat on and broke, I saw this wireless set and decided to give it a go.I’ve been a gamer since, literally, Pong. I have been in IT for over three decades.I’m impressed.. from the quality of the sound, the quality of the Mic, the battery life… EVERYTHING. The setup was a total breeze—straight out the box, simple instructions, and we were good to go. Customer Review: The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless Gaming Headset was well worth the money! I returned a competitor’s headset yesterday after some frustration and waste of time attempting to get them to function. The Turtle Beach Headset has a transmitter that plugs into the USB port on the Xbox where the other pair had a transmitter that stuck on the controller which is simply annoying and impractical. Anyway, the TB Headset arrived today and within a short time after charging the unit they were functioning beautifully! No searching for directions or solutions! They worked and the sound quality is outstanding. The Stealth 500 Headset is about twice what I paid for the rival’s, but ten times less aggravation!

Customer Review: I got these to replace my A50s and they did not disappoint! You don’t have as much control over the chat volume and game volume like you do with the A50s but it’s not a deal breaker for me. You can still control it on the headset with the buttons, but you can’t dial it in exactly how you’d want it. So thing to give up for the price point! Super convenient that it has a usb you plug into the console to connect it. I’ve never had any issues with connecting right away either. The fit is fine for me but it has rather a boxy shape to it but I still find it comfy. Have played for 12 hours straight and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all! The sound quality is great and you can hear so much going on in the game. Helped catch several people trying to sneak up on me in BF6

I have a number other headsets, some for work, and some for gaming – including Logitech Lightspeed G733, Bose Quiet Comforts, a nice Razer, a bunch of cheap ones, and more. But if you are trying to use multiple sources SIMULTANEOUSLY, then this is the one for you. It’s the right balance between comfortable, quality audio, easy to use, and affordable. It’s got simple yet powerful controls, it can connect via 2 included 2.4ghz dongles, plus Bluetooth, and the mic mute function is spectacular (just flip it up). I fell in love with this within 15 minutes and I’ve never looked back. I wish I had found it sooner, but I thought of other brands as being higher quality. I was wrong.I use this with a bluetooth connection to my Yealink office phone and with a 2.4 connection to my PC – plus the other USB dongle can move from gaming system (or other computer) as needed. I can talk to someone on the phone while listening to a video on my PC (sometimes needed for work). I can independently adjust the volumes.That being said “super human hearing mode” is only useful for games as far as I can tell. Also, you can’t control the priority of the microphone. If you are using it with the 2.4ghz dongle, say for a Teams meeting, and then you get a bluetooth call. The blueooth call connects to the mic and the meeting loses it. You still hear audio from both though. And as soon as you disconnect from the the call, the 2.4 dongle gets the mic again. Perhaps giving you that control would make the headset far more complicated, but it was the only part that took me a couple minutes to figure out.

Customer Review: This headset is the most impressive and feature packed headset I’ve ever used. These are incredibly high end, and insanely comfortable! To test out the headset, I spent my first 9 hours with the headset watching videos, listening to music, and of course gaming, and im not exaggerating, after 9 hours of continued use, the battery is at 98%. My biggest concern with a wireless mic was having to remember to keep it charged and ready to go, but I can tell that is not going to be an issue at all! It’s DEFINITELY worth the investment if you are looking to upgrade your headset!

Customer Review: I have a pair of Philips SHP9500’s that I’ve used for YEARS when gaming, and then have had various separate microphones to go with them (since they don’t have a built in mic). The biggest issues with that is that, well, I need a separate mic, and that can be a pain depending on what platform I’m playing on, and on top of that, they are open back headphones. EXTREMELY comfortable, and fantastic sound when driven correctly, but they have pretty bad sound bleed, so whatever mic I use usually has to have some pretty serious noise suppression/gating to cut out the bleed. These, however, solve that problem pretty well. First, they’re closed back, so they encapsulate the sound a LOT more. This makes them a bit bass-ier (although not by THAT much), but also keeps out the bleed. They also have a built in mic (both within the headset, and with the included detachable mic (don’t forget to double check the bag! Thought mine was missing it until I went digging again)). As far as quality goes, they clearly aren’t super high end headphones, but to be honest, for most people, I think these would be totally fine, especially as they can be used wirelessly. The mic is also totally fine, even without using the detachable one, and would be totally fine for your normal voice chat during games, or chilling in Discord or something. As previously mentioned, these are wireless, but keep in mind some caveats. If you want/can use the Bluetooth feature, then they’re totally wireless, although expect a bit of audio delay, and the overall audio quality will be not as good. However, these also have 2.4ghz wireless, although in a kind of odd way. Instead of a USB dongle like most wireless headphones, these have a module that plugs into the bottom of an Xbox One/Series controller. This allows them to be used wirelessly on an Xbox One/Series console, with controls right there (there’s also controls on the headphones themselves). That might make you think that you can’t use them wirelessly with other stuff, but that’s not the case at all! Turns out, that module has a built in battery, but if you connect it via USB C to your PC or your PS4/PS5, it just acts as a wireless dongle, letting you use the headphones wirelessly with those devices too. A bit of an odd way to do it, but it works totally fine! You can also use these wired via the included 3.5mm cable too. Overall, I actually like these, although with it getting hotter here by the day, not sure how sweaty I’ll really want to be (I REALLY like open back headphones due to this), especially as they have fake leather cups, but so far, I’m enjoying them a lot.

After a week of daily use across gaming, Zoom calls, and long listening sessions, I have a lot to say. Some of it surprised me.TLDR: Great sound, surprisingly versatile connectivity, comfortable for all-day wear, and genuinely good value under $20. But there are things the listing doesn’t tell you, and if you’re a PC gamer buying this because it says Acer, or if you want to use this with BT across multiple devices, maybe read the connectivity section carefully,➡️ THE ACER BRANDING TELLS ONLY PART OF THE STORY➜ This headset is manufactured by Shenzhen Jiutong Zhichuang Technology and sold under the Acer Gadget brand, a subsidiary that licenses the Acer name for peripherals, not Acer’s main product line.➜ The same headset (branded differently and with different colors) is also sold here as the Captain 370 headset at around $40. I was originally going to go with a different product until seeing that the Ear Force Recon 50(X) series, was to release on 9/25/15. I decided to give it a try, and figured why not. For $40 it seemed like a steal!For the most part, it is a steal.PROS:–The headset itself is good looking, at first I thought the green would be a little off-putting compared to the color of my other accessories and peripherals, but it actually looks really great. Of course, this part is subjective.–Very lightweight. This thing only weighs a few ounces, and other than the light sensation of the cups on your ears, you could not even know you have it on.–The mic is detachable, which is awesome.–Further, the mic sounds great. It picks up my voice with a pretty good clarity for an entry-level gaming headset, and the attached covering of the mic essentially works as a pop filter. In fact, I have a fan blowing right by me and it manages to cancel the vast majority of the wind rushing into it from the fan. Solid mic.–The sound is pretty good. Bass and highs are on par for this price point, with the mids being the weakest link of the sound stage. For music and movies it is probably not the best choice, although it would still work more than adequately for those uses. Gaming is where it really shines, and the sound quality is more than good enough for my gaming needs. Footsteps are defined, gunshots and explosions sound great, and voices and dialog sound just fine.–Adaptability and Connectivity: It connects to the Xbox One controller that has the 3.5mm plug-in, and works on any Xbox One controller with the Turtle Beach or Microsoft headset adapter. My controller has the plug directly on it, so it works flawlessly without the need of an adapter. Further, it includes an adapter to change the mic/headphones to two separate plugs and I tested it on my PC and it works great for both sound and mic as well. Even though it is marketed as an Xbox One headset, it works just fine on PC and my iPhone. I don’t have a PS4 to try it on, but I would imagine it would work just fine.CONS:–Like mentioned above, the sound is pretty much on par. Nothing special and certainly doesn’t blow your mind with audio fidelity. However for this price range I can’t imagine it gets much better. Mids could be a bit better with frequency range.–The cord is rather short. Granted, this model is targeted specifically towards the Xbox One, so plugging it into the controller with the cord length is more than enough, and nice because you don’t have a huge bundle of cord on your lap when it’s plugged into your controller. However, for use with a PC or other device you might need to purchase a 4 pole 3.5mm extension cable to make it a bit longer. I managed to find several on Amazon for a few bucks, so if this is a problem for you I would recommend going the extension cable route instead of disregarding this headset.OVERALL:I rated 5, but would probably give closer to a 4.5. For $40 (current price at time of writing, the day this headset has been released), it is a great deal. I am very happy with it, and use it as my main headset for my Xbox now, and a backup for my PC. Very comfortable, lightweight, sound is more than adequate in terms of quality, and it works with a multitude of devices. For gaming, it is just an all-around great entry-level headset.

Seriously, that’s how I rate headsets now… does it give me a headache on my clownishly large round head? The sound quality is there; the mic is removable. Love the color, although I chose it. Works great with my Xbox, and connects to parties in Discord and PC. I don’t even remember a setup; it was just plug and play. I could nit-pick and say that I get confused on the on/off switch, but I could just be an idiot. It’s the classic light switch scenario; “Is the switch on when the word ON is showing, or when the word OFF is showing?”, except it’s an orange piece that is visible when you switch it. Is orange on or off? I never remember and in the dark, the tiny writing is illegible. It causes me to do constant sound checks if I’m having to cut my mic on/off constantly. (coughing, baby crying, etc.)
