Customer Review: As a teacher, I’ve used the Sonitum Classroom Headphones (10-Pack) with my students, and they’ve been a reliable addition to our classroom. These headphones are comfortable enough for daily use, even during longer online lessons or testing sessions. The swivel earcups help them fit a wide range of head sizes, which is important when working with different grade levels. My students were able to put them on quickly and adjust them without help. From a classroom perspective, the sound quality is clear and consistent—perfect for instructional videos, read-alouds, and online learning platforms. They don’t have distracting bass, which actually helps students stay focused on the task instead of the audio itself. I also appreciate the durability. The 3.5mm jack works seamlessly with our Chromebooks and other school devices. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I went through a half dozen pair of other options that were less pricey before settling on these. Other versions, I tried lasted, at most, a couple of months, before they broke. One pair broke while I was removing it from my head. Then I found these Sony headphones, which were a total game changer! I still have the first pair I purchased, which have lasted me for more than a year; and I recently purchased a second pair in another color for the office. They are such good quality, very comfortable, easy to adjust to fit children and adults, the sound quality is phenomenal, and they are easy to pair with your devices! I have used them for everything from Zoom calls, to music, listening, and beyond, without any issues. Several people at the office have ordered themselves a pair because they’re so great, and they have loved them as well! If you’re struggling to find headphones that last and/or can survive your kids’ wear and tear, look no further! These are well worth the money and they last, and look great! So far, I’ve ordered these in the blue color and the beige/cream color, and both are lovely, and do not look cheap at all. Highly recommend!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: My wife took these running during a light rain, used them on the treadmill, did strength training, and walked to work in them. She absolutely loves them. They are a huge upgrade from her older wrap around the back headphones from around 2010. She said they are extremely comfortable, the bass is great, and the deep surrounding sound makes music more immersive. She cannot hear anything outside while wearing them, and she likes that a lot for her workouts. The design is clean and modern, and she really likes the breathable ear cushions. The fact that it comes with three different cushion sets is a nice touch, since she can swap them out for cleaning or switch to a new set when needed. They feel light on her head and do not squeeze too hard, so she can wear them for long sessions. Wireless connectivity has been rock solid. The multipoint feature works well, and she was able to switch between her phone and laptop without reconnecting. The range is also very good. She can walk across our living room or kitchen without losing signal, which is helpful when she is cleaning or moving around during workouts. The battery life has been a standout feature. She has been using them every day for almost a week and still has not needed to recharge. Charging is easy and fast, and the headphones are always ready when she is. Overall, she is very happy with the comfort, the sound, the reliable wireless range, and the long battery life. These fit her active routine extremely well and feel like a big upgrade in every way.

Customer Review: I bought a pair of these for my teenage son to replace some Skullcandy Crushers that were broken. I was blown away by these headphones. I liked them so much that I purchased a second pair for myself. These definitely have better sound quality than the Crushers he used to have (although slightly less bass). The sound quality is not quite as good as the Sennheiser Momentum 4s that I have, but other considerations prompted me to get a set for myself. Things I like/love: 1. Extra ear pads – the cloth ear pads are so much nicer for the gym. No issues with sweat and they are washable. 2. Sound quality – These actually sound pretty great and the bass is good 3. Noise cancelling – They do a great job with noise at the gym (haven’t tried on a plane yet) 4. Battery life – outstanding battery life 5. Head clamp – These fit tighter on my head and don’t wobble when working out like my Sennheisers. They are also very comfortable and not overly tight 6. Control buttons – the buttons are simple and easy to control My only real complaint is the lack of a case. I travel a lot by plane and always have headphones in my backpack. A nice small hard case would be great for travel.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Firstly, the color is so cute, and exactly as pictured. I am so in love with the aesthetic of them. They also came fully charged, which was awesome so I got to use them immediately. Secondly, the quality is super good so far. Whether listening to podcasts, rap, or metal music, the sound quality has been perfect. They are compatible with both my switch 2 and my phone which is to be expected, but still happy there were no surprises or difficulties there. They aren’t exactly noise canceling though. When they’re on with no sound playing, other sounds are just dulled ever so slightly. When sound is playing, you can still hear people talking and other sounds like fans, but outside sounds aren’t obtrusive and are blocked fairly well. I also really like how big the ear holes in the pads are, I wasn’t expecting that. My whole ear fits inside them, which makes them super comfortable since they aren’t smooshing the tops of my ears into the arms of my glasses. It also makes them really comfortable to wear while laying down, again because they don’t smoosh my ears. I haven’t had them long enough to really put them through the paces on charging or audio hours, but I will come back to add to this review a little later to comment on that. So far, so amazingly good! Super pleased with the quality for the price I paid.

Customer Review: For an inexpensive pair of headphones, I’d say it was a good investment. The sound quality is very clear, although songs like Golden Hour the instruments could sound more crisp. They do not fully cancel noise, however, but do block out some. They can also reach high volumes without becoming tinny, although I have never used at full blast to avoid bursting an eardrum 😂 They are very comfortable and light weight. I just wish they fit on my neck better because they are very right. I also love the color- it’s so bright and fun! That is partially why I went with this brand, too. They connect very well to my iPhone, too. While there are better headphones, I would recommend if you don’t want to spend a bunch of money. They will work and don’t break in a month and you’ll overall have a fairly good sound.

Travelers, remote workers, and commuters who need top-tier noise cancellation and marathon battery life for long flights, train rides, or open-office distractions.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent hybrid ANC performance
  • Outstanding 70-hour battery life
  • Hi-Res audio with deep, clear bass
  • Comfortable for all-day wear

Cons:
  • Build quality is good but not luxury-grade

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: The hybrid ANC works incredibly well on airplanes and in busy coffee shops. The ear cushions are soft, and I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Bass is punchy but not overwhelming. Overall, an excellent pair of headphones.

Customer Review: I’ve tried several noise cancelling headphones, but these are on another level. The hybrid noise cancellation actually adapts to my environment, and the difference is noticeable. Super comfortable for long listening sessions too. I forget I’m even wearing them.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: These things are amazing… Battery play time at its highest volume is very good and to say the least I am surprised for such an affordable product. Sound quality is great and I like the faze function when turning back on the music it does not hit you all at once. I like the design and it fits comfortably around my ears. I listen to music all the time and these headphones while wearing feels as if they are not even there. Very impressed. only had them a short while so I can attest to the longevity of this product. I also get 30+ feet from my phone or other connected devise, so its range is good as well. Connection is stable. I purchased the black version of this product, and it is a sleek look. All and all very nice product not just for the price but of its quality.

Customer Review: Updated review: After some quality issues with the white pair, the seller contacted me, offering to send me a replacement. It arrived quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. They offered to send me a set of the black ones, which appear to be a more recent revision as of 1/29/2026. I’ll be reviewing those. If you’re interested in the white pair, see my original review below instead and the issues do still stand, thought the customer service is fantastic so the company deserves an extra star for that. For the price, the sound quality is decent. It’s not as good as my similarly-priced in-ear buds or over-ear headphones, but that’s to be expected given the limitations of the form factor – I also have gone through about a dozen of each of those styles to find the best offering though, so my standards skew high on my sound quality. The difference is mostly noticeable in the lower and lower-mid tones lacking some body, plus some slight gain clipping issues if your music has too much going on. If you’re listening to a podcast or something that’s not bass-heavy, it’s not too noticeably different. The comfort and area-awareness make the sound trade-offs totally worth it. The buds have replaced both my in-ear and over-ear headphones as my daily user solely based on the comfort of wear. I often forget they’re on. Be aware that depending on your ear size you may need to rotate the phones to find a comfortable angle, but once you do they’re barely noticeable. You can hear everything around you while wearing them which is a huge plus if you live in an area where you really would prefer to hear what’s going on around you clearly while walking around. Build quality feels solid with that satiny finish common of at least mid-grade earbuds these days. Battery life is nothing to write home about, but they charge pretty quickly. I often use mine at work and just throw them in the case when I want to do something where I don’t need them on, and I haven’t had issues. Original review for the white phones below: Sound is…fine. Better than super cheap gas station earbuds, but they’re mostly good for audio books, videos, etc since the low and midtones are pretty unimpressive. Very comfortable, just be aware you may have to find the right angle for your ear. The primary reason for the middling review though is how touchy the built in controls are. If you move too quickly, you’ll be blessed with a popping noise of uncontrollable volume telling you the bud has decided to do something. Since the controls are extremely light touch, this happens A LOT. One of my buds either got the controls stuck or else had a software glitch that a factory reset didn’t fix where if sound wasn’t constantly playing, it would act like I was repeatedly pressing the volume down control. This issue made the bud essentially unusable. As with any technology off the internet, you get what you pay for. If you want something that will get the job done and don’t like in-ear buds but aren’t looking to commit to a decent brand, these might work for you. If you want something better than the equivalent of gas station Skull Candy’s, maybe punch up a bit more and get a higher quality product.

  • Bass can be overwhelming for some genres

  • Sound signature is tuned for bass, not critical listening

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: These headphones sound amazing, especially if you like strong bass. The sound is clear, deep, and gets very loud. Even in a crowded, noisy gym, they easily overpower background noise. The bass is so strong that I sometimes have to turn it down so I don’t distract people around me with my music choice 😄. They’re great for lifting, cardio, and intense workouts. They stay comfortable and secure during heavy lifts, and the battery life easily lasts multiple gym sessions without needing a charge. I also use ear pad covers when working out to help with sweating and to protect the ear cushions, and that’s helped keep them in great condition. Overall, excellent sound quality, insane bass, and a solid choice for anyone who wants motivating audio for the gym. Highly recommend.

Customer Review: These headphones have become my go to for the gym. There’s quite a bit to love about these and only one thing I wish worked better. To start they are loud. When you’re in a gym with music blasting and other people talking/yelling you need something nice and loud to drown it all out. The over ear design keeps the sound in and shuts everything else out. The isolation is good enough when combined with the volume and the sensory bass. The sensory bass is absolutely incredible. When I’m in the gym going for a heavy set and need some serious motivation the bass does the trick. If you haven’t tried it before the only way I can try to describe it is standing in front of a speaker at a club with some serious hip hop playing. Shakes you to your core. This is something that sets these apart from every single other paid of headphones out there. The ear pads are removable and easy to clean which is key for headphones that you sweat a ton in. If you wear over ear headphones to the gym regularly, you know how gross the pads can get. On other headphones you just have to replace them, whereas these are so easy to pop off and clean. Perfect for gym headphones. The only gripe I have is that these say they have good clamping force. I guess I just have a small head because when I lay back to bench, they definitely slip right off once I start sweating. This is for flat and inclined. So if your head is normal sized you might not have this issue but these aren’t super light so they can slide off in my experience. There’s a way to mitigate this by rotating the headphones forward where the band goes across your forehead, but not having to think about it would be nice. That one thing aside, these are seriously my favorite pair to wear in the gym by far. Definitely recommend to every gym rat that loves loud music and heavy heavy bass!

10. TREBLAB U5 Hybrid ANC Headphones

TREBLAB U5 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones for Work

The TREBLAB U5 offers hybrid ANC, IPX4 sweat resistance, and a foldable design for work, travel, and gym use. With up to 64 hours of playback (ANC on reduces to 55 hours), it balances noise cancellation and battery life well. The sound is bass-forward and clear, and the on-ear controls are simple. A notable point: while marketed for sweat, some long-term gym users report durability issues with heavy moisture.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation: Reduces ambient noise in offices, airports, and gyms.
  • IPX4 Sweat Resistance: Handles light to moderate sweat.
  • 64-Hour Battery (55 with ANC): Lasts full work weeks.
  • Foldable Design & USB-C: Portable and easy to charge.
  • Transparency Mode: Hear announcements or conversations.

Why We Recommend It

For anyone wanting ANC at a reasonable price with decent battery life, the U5 is a strong contender. It’s comfortable, sounds good for the price, and the foldable design is handy for travel. The transparency mode is useful for gyms or travel where you need occasional awareness. However, be mindful that heavy, daily gym sweat may eventually take a toll.

Best For

Office workers, travelers, and moderate gym-goers who want ANC and long battery without spending a fortune, but who don’t subject headphones to extreme sweat daily.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Effective hybrid ANC for the price
  • Very long battery life (64 hours)
  • IPX4 sweat resistance
  • Foldable and portable
  • Transparency mode for situational awareness
Cons:

  • Sound quality good but not exceptional
  • Build is plastic and less premium feeling

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I replaced a set if Beats Studio 3’s with the U5s. I wore the Beats to the gym about 3 days a week and they only lasted about 8 months. Loved the Beats’ sound, but apparently they can’t handle the sweat. Honestly, I’d never heard of the Treblab brand before. But I wanted something more moisture resistant and had a comparable sound (and at a cheaper price, if possible). I read the reviews and decided to try them. So far, I’m very pleased with the U5s. As other reviewers noted, they are very comfortable and fit easily over big ears! Better than the Beats, which were tight. The sound quality is similar, perhaps a bit less bassy than the Beats, but still powerful. I found that an add-on equalizer app can adjust all the frequencies to your tastes. I also like the noise cancellation button on the headphones. Beats controlled it through their app — which was a bit of a hassle. The Transparency mode is a feature that I like — also controllable on the headset. Setup and Bluetooth connectivity was a breeze. My phone recognized and paired with them easily. Finally, the price was much less expensive than the Beats. Time will tell how these hold up at the gym — but I really like them! Honestly, I can say I’m glad I took a chance on this brand. One other point: when I tried to warranty register the Beats, i was told the serial number was not valid — and they would not warranty or register them. It took an hour on the phone with the Apple Support team (Yes, Apple warranties Beats) before they finally said my Beats were an authentic Apple product. But they failed to register them. My experience with registering the U5s was sooo easy. Just an email with the serial number and the order number from Amazon and they were registered!! Hope this helps with your selection of headphones. There are a lot out there to choose from. Glad I purchased the U5s. I’m writing this update 6 weeks after I purchased these headphones. I’ve change my rating to a ‘1’ because they have stopped working. I have been wearing them to the gym about 3 times per week. So over the past 6 weeks, I’ve used them less than 25 times. Last week, they simply stopped working in the middle of my workout. No big deal, I thought. Perhaps the battery needed recharging (funny that I didn’t get some kind of low-battery warning, but, oh well). I charged them for several hours and the red charging lite went off — so I assumed they were fully recharged. Went to the gym today and they shut down after about a minute. Retried to connect them and they wouldn’t even turn on. When I got home, I tried to recharge them (again), but that didn’t work either. So — I contacted Amazon and they agreed to a refund even tho it was past the 30 day return window. I’m now looking for another set of headphones and they won’t be Treblab or Beats. Not sure what happened, but I can’t recommend these. They were great while they lasted. Perhaps they are not as sweat/water resistant as they claim. Or, maybe the battery was bad. Very disappointed in them. Final UPDATE — 12 Weeks Later The support team from Treblab unexpectedly reached out to me this week and provided me a replacement pair of U5s! I did not ask for these — it was their customer service team that took the initiative based on my honest review of their product. Because of that, I’ve changed my rating back to 5 Stars. Their support is exceptional! And I really liked the headphones — they just didn’t hold up for sweaty workouts. I’ve talked with others who have had similar experiences with other brands of over-the-ear headphones. The just don’t seem to like the moisture. So, my advice: buy the U5’s for using anywhere but at the gym. Thanks, Treblab! I’m a fan for life.

Customer Review: Update review after getting a working headset. First was DOA. Amazon did a swap for me. TY Amazon. I like this headset. Compared to 3M worktunes, this one is much more comfortable, much better sound quality, works with the music/Spotify from my garmin watch. As far as I can tell the sound protection is comparable. I used this headset on a rowing machine for an hour. The headset stayed on. The noise protection let me play music at a lower volume than my earbuds. They did get sweaty, and there are no cleaning instructions I can find. The similar Z2 model has replaceable ear pads so you could remove them for cleaning. This unit does not. Sound is somewhat bass heavy. Highs are OK. Overall not bad, and less sensitive to placement than earbuds. ————————— previous review ——————– Arrived DOA. That happens. Swapping for a new one, will update review. Leaving this review now in case it’s a bad batch vs a single bad headset. Symptoms: Blue light came on solid immediately when USB-C charging cable attached. Manual says that means fully charged. No response at all to the power switch with or without the cable attached. Switch seemed good with tactile feedback, no response to holding it 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 30 seconds. No amount of fiddling got any response (no vibration, no sound, no lights). Amazon processed the replacement swap immediately (TY Amazon).

Complete Buying Guide for Best Over Ear Headphones To Workout

Essential Factors We Consider

When shopping for workout headphones, prioritize sweat and water resistance (look for IPX4 or higher). Secure fit is critical—over-ear should have good clamping force without being too tight; earbuds need wingtips or hooks. Battery life matters: aim for at least 20 hours for over-ear, 10+ for earbuds. Noise cancellation (ANC) helps in gyms, but transparency mode is vital for outdoor safety. Sound quality should be balanced with enough bass for motivation, but not overwhelming. Finally, comfort with breathable materials and adjustable headbands ensures long-wear usability.

Budget Planning

Set a realistic budget based on your needs. Under $50: You’ll find basic wireless over-ears and earbuds with decent sound and battery, but ANC and premium build are rare. $50-$150: This range offers the best value—solid ANC, good battery, sweat resistance, and reliable brands like Sony, Anker, and Raycon. $150+: You’re paying for premium ANC (Sony, Bose), luxury materials, and exceptional sound fidelity. For workouts, mid-range often hits the sweet spot of features vs. durability.

Final Thoughts

The “best” workout headphones depend entirely on your routine. Over-ear models provide immersive sound and often better ANC but can be bulky. Earbuds are lightweight and secure for running but may have shorter battery. Open-ear designs prioritize safety for outdoor athletes. Consider where you’ll use them most—the gym, trails, or travel—and balance features like sweat resistance, battery, and sound profile accordingly. Our top picks cover all bases, so you can choose based on your personal priorities and budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are over-ear headphones good for running?

A: Over-ear headphones can be used for running, but they may be bulky, trap heat, and sometimes slip during high-impact movement. Many runners prefer secure earbuds or open-ear designs for better stability and situational awareness. If you choose over-ear for running, look for lightweight models with strong clamping force and sweat resistance.

Q: How important is sweat resistance for workout headphones?

A: Extremely important. Sweat contains salts and moisture that can damage internal components over time. Look for an IPX4 rating or higher, which means they can withstand splashes and sweat. For intense, daily gym sessions, IPX5 or IPX6 offers even better protection. Wipe them down after use to extend lifespan.

Q: Can I use noise cancellation during outdoor runs?

A: Generally, no. Noise cancellation blocks ambient sounds like traffic, cyclists, and people, which is a safety risk outdoors. Use transparency/awareness mode instead, which lets you hear your surroundings while still enjoying music. Some headphones automatically switch to transparency when they detect speech or environmental sounds.

Q: What’s the average battery life for workout headphones?

20-70 hours on a single charge. Earbuds typically offer 6-12 hours per bud, with the case providing additional recharges. Quick charging (e.g., 10 minutes for 1-2 hours) is a useful feature if you forget to charge regularly. Always check real-world reviews, as battery life can vary based on volume and ANC usage.

Q: How do I clean workout headphones?

damp cloth and mild soap. For earbuds, clean the nozzles gently with a dry toothbrush. Avoid harsh chemicals or submerging in water. Some over-ear models have removable, washable ear pads—check the manual. Let headphones air dry completely before storing to prevent odor and damage.

Finding the right headphones for your workouts doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you need powerful bass for heavy lifting, long battery for marathon training, or open-ear safety for city runs, there’s an option on this list that fits your needs and budget.
