Customer Review: I own quite a bit of headphones and headsets (Sennheiser HD 600, Sony MDR-M1, FiiO FT1, PC38X, and a few others), and this is probably the best piece of audio equipment I own under $100. The sound that these drivers produce is really good for the price. I purchased them just to see if they would live up to the hype, and to my ears they really do. These, along with the Tempest 3D Audio on Playstation, make Ghost of Yotei sound really immersive. If you’re looking for hard thumping bass, then these may not be for you. These have a more neutral tuning to them which I really like.

Customer Review: Sony is always known for solid products at a great price point. I bought these headphones on sale right before Black Friday. I wanted a sound quality upgrade from my Hyperx Cloud II. The Sony Inzone H3 are right at the same price point. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the Sony sounds better. More dynamic bass and more detailed high notes. They sound good even without downloading the app and messing with the 360 Spatial Sound profile. They make the HyperX Clouds sound muddy and not as accurate at producing sound. Light on the head with comfortable ear cups make me feel like I can wear them all day. The microphone boom switch and physical knob volume are more than adequate. My only critique is that the cable attached to headphones are really thin, but I’ve owned Sony earbuds with a similar cable design and I never had issues with connectivity over time. I’d vote this best sounding headphones with a mic for under $120.

Customer Review: I wanted a headphone/mic set that would allow me to take advantage of speech to text functions, dictation to AI and maybe even some gaming or music listening on the computer. These seem to check off all those requirements. First, these are very comfortable to wear. The ‘cloud’ name is appropriate for the ear and headband pads. They are adjustable for ear positions and the detachable & adjustable mic works well. The noise cancellation worked well enough for me as I don’t hear any outside noise. I like the option for connecting as they have 3.5mm jack, USB and USB-C cables/adapter. With the USB cable adapter, it is more than long enough to reach my computer. The headphone sound was really quite good especially for this price point. The mic picks up sound well enough though comes though a little on the quiet side. Connecting was easy as windows picked it up immediately when plugged in and made it the default. I’m quite happy with these and the price was a good value.

Customer Review: I am a hardcore gamer, so when I need equipment like keyboards, mice, and or headsets I always go with “Steel Series”. While it is name brand and can be expensive, you get your moneys worth. This headset is amazing and very comfortable. It has high-quality sound that can let you hear things you normally couldnt hear through a speaker. The microphone sound is clear and everyone listening to you can hear clearly without any inconvenient noises thay come with some mics.I also find it convenient that the mic is fully retractable as that when I am not using it I can simply tuck it away. Another thing I like is that the mic arm is flexible and can be moved closer to you or further out most others. As for the head frame, there is a cloth piece that spans the width of the headset thaf is adjustable and or removable. This is very convenient and comfortable as wearing headsets (particularly the hard plastic that sits on the head), for long periods of time can hurt or be uncomfortable. Also the ear pieces are made from very soft breathable cloth and they are big enough to fit around the ears instead of sitting on them or the edges. I have had multiple headsets and all of them sat on the edges of my ears and would eventually become uncomfortable but not with this set. The ears on this set literally fits AROUND the ENTIRE ear and instead of MOST of the ear. Other sets you can feel your ears under the edge of the cover but with this one you can not feel them at all. As far as long gaming sessions I have sat in on a four hour session with this set and the comfort was so great that I nearly forgot I was wearing a headset. It also has a large built in on / off button for the microphone as well as a big volume roll button for volume control.

Customer Review: Wonderful sound, blocks out a lot of noise. Steelseries always comes correct with even their cheaper products! I use this for my ps5, switch 2, and sometimes my MacBook and it works flawlessly. The mic is very good and being retract it in and out is a great feature. They are also so comfortable! The headband makes it feel like there is a barely anything on your head. Super light! Truly plug and play. Volume control is a little touchy but works just fine.

Customer Review: The hardware in the Krakens is excellent, imo. My husband loves these phones (and I do, too!) My previous phones, a pair of Sony MDR-7506’s, were so good we thought nothing could beat them, even though the Sony phones’ drivers are 40 mms in size and these Razer Kraken drivers are 50mm–much depends on the amplification hardware in the ear pads and motherboard hardware as to which will drive the better sound–eg., 50 mm drivers are not automatically better than 40mm drivers, regardless of the hardware environments. A lot also depends on the preferences of the individuals asked to state their opinions, of course. Some people like bass so overwhelming it actually distorts whereas other people like it only enough to hear it plainly with no distortion, and others like it turned down or off, inexplicably, etc. (But you can’t argue with individual opinions, right?…Opinions are like armpits–we all have at least two of them, eh? So, I advise listening to all sides and colors of opinions, especially about computer hardware! There’s always something new to learn even we don’t agree with the overall opinions other people have or their conclusions. Opinions should always be debated–never, ever censored, we firmly believe!)Bear in mind, both sets of phones were tested via my husband’s x570 Aorus Master motherboard’s RealTek’HD Audio 3.5mm analog Hi-Definition front-panel jack–the best earphone connection jack in the system, btw. (Give me wired over wireless any day–I hate batteries and frequency interference, not to mention security concerns that do not exist with wired connections, etc.) The x570 Master also supports, in hardware, a 3-position headphone amp, and a hardware DAC, a SABRE 9118 DAC–the combination has to be heard to be properly appreciated, imo.Connector cabling. The Kraken offers a superior wiring connection–Kraken uses an extremely thin and ultra-flexible braided connector cable, whereas the Sony offers a thick, plastic-covered connection cable in which most of the length is coiled, just like analog amp cables circa the 1960’s were made. Indeed, the Sony cabling doesn’t look like something made for a 3.5mm plug! It looks exactly like something made for a full size plug! It’s opinion, sure, as everything always is in the end, but we much prefer the Kraken’s cabling over that used in the Sony cans used as the baseline comparison for this review. The Kraken cabling is ultralight, ultrathin, cloth braided, and so ultra-flexible that there simply isn’t any obstinate stiffness in the cable that can be perceived. We both like it very much because of that–it is the nearest thing to not having a cable at all, but without any of the negatives of wireless. Sony’s cabling is–well–SoA, circa 1969…;) Reminds my husband of plugging in his ancient but revered Gibson SG-Specials or Fender Strats & Telecasters into nice big onstage amps (which he still does, only the amps are a fair bit smaller, thankfully…;) )Razer Kraken has an inline volume and microphone control switch. The Sony has neither–well, it doesn’t have a microphone at all, so of course no Mic on/off switch. The Kraken has a nice, radial volume control for the cans, and a straight on-off switch for the Mic. Neither of us is a Mic user, so I’ll leave that portion of the review to others better qualified to write about it in another review. Suffice it to say the Mic works as advertised and the on/off inline switch works fine.Now for the optional DSP software. Here’s the situation as we think it stands regarding the extra-cost surround software available for the Kraken, the THX Spatial Audio software for the Kraken. We don’t recommend anyone buying the Headphones without buying the offered THX Spatial Audio software! It’s offered at 50% off when you buy the Kraken Phones, by Razer. So it’s $10! It’s the best $10 you are going to spend for a long time. We believe that these phones should not be offered sans the THX Spatial Audio–it’s kind of baffling that they are offered without the custom THX software, frankly. However, there are people who love distorted bass and volumes so loud that King Kong’s eardrums would burst!…;) So maybe that’s why Razer doesn’t integrate this into this Kraken package. Still, it would be unusual to find earphone wearers who would prefer their games sounding like an avalanche of boulders tumbling down the side of Everest. I think, anyway…;)To sum it up–I love this software. Husband loves it. He says it’s much better than what he thought it might be. Razer includes a 7.1 surround-sound software solution free of charge with the Kraken, and it’s just “OK”–just kind of average–seems to induce a fair bit of bass distortion in speech in some of our games–one guy’s speech is nigh unintelligible with the Razer 7.1 surround sound package for the Krakens. But run the THX Spatial Audio, instead, and the difference is real and immediately noticeable. THX really justifies its commercial claims–the software brings out the best in the Kraken hardware!Comfort. It’s a very important category with cans–as all of us know. If you can’t game for hours because your phones are causing you pain or discomfort after a certain wearing time–that’s unacceptable. These Kraken phones have “Oval Cooling Gel Cushions” in the pads and I’m just going to say that they are very comfortable indeed. My husband says that this set is the most comfortable set of cans he’s ever worn. Both of us think the Sony set tends to “pinch” a bit in a long wear. The Sony pads are by no means uncomfortable, absolutely not. But both of us–my husband’s typically swelled head and my petite but usually swifter smaller head both find the Krakens more comfortable in all wear scenarios–which I find a bit unusual. My husband says that what surprises him about the Krakens in addition to the gel-filled ear pads is how comfortable they feel–even for a large head like his they feel like they’ve got more room to give–not something the Sony’s ever did. The Sony’s were adequate, just not as comfortable.Durability. This is a big one for us, but especially for my husband. He’s gone through many Plasticine sets of cans promising great durability. Hah. We have lost count of the very strong-looking plastic-frame headsets that after very little use, comparatively, use that was anything but harsh or abusive, simply fell apart, cracking through or breaking apart, and it happened over and over again. Hence, the hunt for metal headbands and construction in our headphones. Both the Sony and the Razer Kraken use metal in their construction, and what a difference! Neither set has come close to cracking or breaking apart! The Sony’s have been up for years without a single problem in that regard! Years, literally. We do not expect to see any less durability from our Razer Kraken–namely, the one reviewed in this article!Really, any aluminum-headband construction should suffice for a long, long time. Our advice is to avoid plastic like the plague–especially the plastic headbands that appear to hold massive weight and hold up under enormous wear and tear–especially those particular Plasticine headbands….;) They just aren’t going to be there one day when you really need them.Price: Believe it or not, the Sony cans are actually priced higher than the Kraken headset reviewed here. You can usually buy the Kraken Gaming Headset reviewed here plus the Razer THX Spatial Audio Software for less–that’s right–less than what the MDR-7506 is currently selling for in places such as AMAZON! Where you are right now.Summary: The Sony cans, the MDR-7506’s used as a baseline comparison for the Razer Kraken Gaming Headset review here, deliver really nice sound and were our number 1 choice in gaming headphones. Operative word being “were”….! These Razer Kraken headphones are better, in our very humble, sincere opinions!

Customer Review: I bought this to replace my broken original in September of 2025. I destroyed the controller they give you, but the headphones are fine. These do the job just fine. I compared the sound quality of my old headphones and these ones and I cannot tell the difference, granted I cannot test the old controller anymore.You see I originally ordered this in July of 2019. That model, made under the old company, held up just fine. It was my favorite and had an amazing sound to it, especially when you activated its surround sound mode. Since the company was bought by HP I was skeptical about what I’d get this time.The new model is made with less materials, feels lighter, and doesn’t extend as far as the old one. It still fits me fine though. I am someone with a big head and so that was a big reason I loved the HyperX Cloud II’s design. The mic is still very low, like the original manufacturer’s. I recommend using a program like Voicemeter to boost your gain on it. When you do that it works perfectly.In the end it feels like the same exact headphones. So if you are an owner of the old model that is near the end of its life and want another, then this is a safe purchase. I am happy with this and hope it will last me another 6 years or more. It’s a great sound, a great value, and pretty long lasting.

Customer Review: TL;DR Review: My previous headset broke, so I chose this one after reading/watching reviews. Comfort and durability are excellent, so far. The mic is good enough for calls and gaming. Initially, I was not impressed with the sound of the headphones (sounded like a low bitrate MP3), but then I realized I needed to plug the headset into my motherboard’s USB ports rather than the front panel ports. I am now very happy with this headset and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, comfortable gaming headset. (Owned for 5 months as of 2/27/16)Full Review:I purchased these to replace my Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset. The Gamecom headset had a 100% plastic headband which snapped one month after the warranty period ended. Apologies in advance, but I sometimes will compare the Cloud II to the Gamecom 780 in this review because its my only point of reference, and I felt like the Gamecom was an excellent headset prior to breakage. Overall, the Cloud II’s have been a worthy replacement, and even an upgrade in many respects, but there are some areas where the Gamecom was better.After looking at YouTube, WireCutter, and Amazon reviews, I settled on the HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. Almost everyone raved about their durability, comfort, and sound. I know a headphone + stand mic combo can provide a better overall experience, but I didn’t feel like spending the ~$200 on that combo just yet.Fit & FinishAfter they arrived, my initial impression of this headset was that it was very high quality. The fake leather on the earcups and the headband is nice and soft, and the stitching on the headband looks good and provides a nice red accent. The red brushed metal on the exposed parts of the frame is also a nice touch. The microphone detaches and reattaches very easily, although I do prefer a flip-up microphone like on the Gamecom 780. However, that’s just a preference and shouldn’t have any bearing on this review. As for fit, I have a larger head (I’m 6’2″, 215 lbs, and probably have a 7-3/8″ hat size) and these fit very comfortably. I’ve worn them for hours while gaming and never felt like the clamping pressure was too hard. Also, they don’t make my head/ears sweat or anything like that. The pads on the earcups provide a comfortable seal around my ears that blocks out a lot of noise, which can be a pro and a con sometimes.DurabilityAfter 5 months of daily use… so far, so good. I recently purchased a hook so I can hang these up rather than just setting them on my desk or on the floor, so hopefully that increases the Cloud II’s longevity, but I still don’t feel like these will break as easily as the Gamecom 780’s. Unless they get stepped on by an elephant or run over by my truck, I don’t think the headband on the Cloud II’s will be snapping after 13 months like the Gamecoms. The drivers in the headphones are still going strong, and the mic still sounds good. I will update if anything changes.Headphone Sound QualityHonestly, the headphones didn’t blow me away at first. There was a noticeable difference from the Gamecom 780’s in this regard. I felt like the sound on the 780’s was awesome for their ~$60 price tag, but the Cloud II’s just didn’t sound as good. It was like listening to 320 kbps vs. 128 kbps MP3. There was a “graininess” (my terminology, sorry) to all sound – gaming, movies, and calls – that was especially noticeable at low volume. After a couple months, it was annoying me so much that I was about ready to buy a good pair of headphones and separate mic. Then I had an epiphany. I always plug my headset (780 or the Clouds) into my front USB ports (Fractal Define R4 case) because sometimes I like to unplug them and listen to movies/podcasts through my speakers. I had tried both the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports with the Cloud II’s, and the sound was the same on both. One day, I realized I had never plugged them directly into my motherboard’s USB ports (Gigabyte Z170X-UD5). As soon as I did, I noticed an immediate difference in the sound quality. The “graininess” went away and I’m now very happy with the sound quality. I now run a USB extension cable from the back of my computer so I can still easily unplug the headset as needed, and the USB extension doesn’t add any of the noise/bit-rate issues I was experiencing before.Virtual 7.1 Surround QualityI’m really not impressed by the virtual surround performance of the Cloud II’s. I felt like the Gamecom 780’s had a great virtual surround, or at least better than the Cloud II’s. With the Gamecom, I could easily tell when/where an enemy was approaching me in FPS games. With the Cloud II’s, I can hear an enemy approaching, but it’s a lot tougher to tell where they’re coming from. I don’t think it’s enough of a disappointment to lose a star though, since I can try other virtual surround software (Razer) and bypass the “built-in” virtual surround of the Cloud II’s.Microphone QualityThe microphone is great for voice chat during games (Discord ftw) and Hangouts calls, but I would get a separate microphone if I was doing anything more than that. I don’t stream to YouTube or Twitch. I don’t record podcasts. I only use it to talk with my friends. They’ve all told me that it sounds clear and noise-free. If and when I do decide to do more, I’ll pick up a Blue Yeti or Audio-Technica ATR-2100 which I know will have a much more professional and richer sound quality at a reasonable price, but I’m not to that point yet. For a ~$99 headset, the microphone is pretty good.ConclusionI would definitely recommend this headset to anyone looking for something that has great quality and is reasonably priced. I’d also recommend plugging it into your motherboard vs. the front panel USB ports to avoid any sound issues. The fit and finish are pretty nice, and it definitely feels more durable than my previous headset. The sound quality is great, but the 7.1 virtual surround experience is not very dependable. The microphone is good for gaming and voice calls, but look for a standalone mic if you’re doing anything more than that. It’s a great headset that does its job admirably, and I don’t think you’ll find better value for the price.

Customer Review: I got these for my 8 year old. I chose them because I figured they don’t cost too much is she breaks them I won’t be as upset. Before I gave them to her on Christmas I tested them out to make sure they actually work. After I tested them I made my husband test them too. We were blown away by how good they are the sound quality was great it cancels out all other noise in the house so you can zone in. The mic works great too! Honestly they are better than my expensive headset when it’s time for me to replace I will be getting myself a pair of these for sure. Very impressed

Customer Review: PC experience.I have a pair of the wireless Atlas Air’s, so I was hoping for a good second set for another computer in the house. These are close. I bought the white playstation version, instead of the PC version. It does just have a TTRS connector, and my motherboard’s sound output wouldn’t accept that. I tried two different methods, one with a splitter and TTRS extension cable (because the cable length is too short unless your computer is right next to you) and also a USB to 3.5mm TTRS adapter. I have the USB adapter plugged into my keyboard and really like that solution better. The adapter was only 4.66 on Amazon here. JHAOUS branded.Overall the headphones are similar to the Atlas Air’s, but I’d say they get warm on my ears with a closed back. I wish they had the floating open back to let more background sound and ventilation in. Sound quality is fine. I do like the volume knob on the left.You can buy the PC version for 10 dollars more than the PS or Xbox versions, and it includes the USB to 3.5mm dongle, but only comes in black.
