Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “I purchased this to save myself some time by dictating instead of typing. It works flawlessly for that. The test recordings I’ve made sound great to my ear. The quality of the construction makes me feel like this was a great deal. The only trouble I had was not because of the microphone, but my computer made it the default speaker. I suppose that is because you can plug headphones into it. It has settings for use by one person (cardioid) or omnidirectional. I have not compared the settings. The volume dial that is also the mute button. On the bottom are a headphone jack, a usb-c port and a place to connect it to a tripod.I didn’t know I had such a sexy voice…I may have to take up podcasting!”
Customer Review: “Quality usb mic for a fair price. The mic is responsive, and reproduces the voice well. I comes close to professional recording level quality, but not quite. For everyday use, it suits every purpose. I, for example, use it for language study, and to check my pronunciation. I would also feel comfortable using it to overdub audio on a YouTube video. It is very sensitive, with a wide field of response, and will pick up all noises in the environment, including the sound of your computer. Again, for routine purposes, that poses no problem. Happy I bought it.”

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “The instructions aren’t perfectly clear, but then when are they ever for any product and all customers? This is the worst part of the package, meaning it’s pretty darn good from here. I have purchased a couple of high quality microphones to use for my YT tutorials, and neither worked well with my PC. Their noise-canceling was great, but I had to be right on top of them to have the audio (my voice) picked up at a usable level. Even with my mixer, I had to crank the gain almost to its max to use those microphones. This mic, though very inexpensive, works much better than my two prior much more expensive microphones. The RGB colors I could do without, but, having them is fine, and they do work, changing the color of the mic if I wish. The gain adjustment is great, large, and easy to use. The button activated mute and noise-canceling are a little more difficult to use, but they do work well. Most of all, I no longer need to have my mouth an inch from the mic to have clear and high gain pickup of my voice. I have two Pyrenees Lab dogs and with the noise-canceling on, their loud pounding paws are rarely picked up, nor other sounds more than about 3 feet away. The included stand, though cheap, works well. Once I got it where I wanted it to be, it’s holding the mic well, and allowing me to swing it out of the way when not needed. The USB connection cord is plenty long enough. Overall, for the price, this is a steal. If it lasts for a year, I’ll be plenty happy with the money spent on it. At this point, I’d recommend the mic. I’ve not run into any of the problems others have noted in their reviews. As said, if it keeps working, I’ll be a happy camper.”
Customer Review: “Just plug and play. Been working it for two days. Cristal clear sound. Some people have said the colors are catty. For me I didn’t buy it for the colors but if it can record audio and cancel background noise. Which it does like pro gear. I would recommend this if you’re looking for a mic for voice over stuff.”

10. XTUGA M7 Dynamic Gaming Microphone – RGB Light, Noise Reduction, Real-Time Monitoring for Podcast Studio PC PS5 Mac YouTube Streaming
The XTUGA M7 is a dynamic microphone, which is different from the condenser mics on this list. Dynamic mics are typically more rugged and better at rejecting background noise, making them ideal for loud environments. This one has a serious, professional look with its RGB lighting. The noise reduction is powerful (up to 80dB), and it includes real-time headphone monitoring. Note that as a dynamic mic, it requires you to speak closer to it for optimal pickup.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ Dynamic capsule (more rugged, better noise rejection than condensers)
- ✓ One-touch noise reduction with up to 80dB reduction ratio
- ✓ Real-time headphone monitoring with volume control
- ✓ Heavy, premium-feeling metal construction
- ✓ Multiple RGB lighting modes with mute status indicator
Why We Recommend It
We recommend this for anyone who needs maximum background noise rejection—think gamers with loud mechanical keyboards, fans, or in shared spaces. Its dynamic design naturally handles high sound pressure levels without distorting. The build quality is exceptional for the price, feeling much more substantial than many budget condensers. It’s a unique, robust option in the budget gaming mic space.
Best For
Gamers with very noisy environments (loud keyboards, fans, room noise) who need the best possible background noise rejection. Also great for those who prefer the durability and feel of a dynamic microphone.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent background noise rejection, perfect for loud setups
- Very sturdy, high-quality metal build
- Real-time headphone monitoring
- Powerful one-touch noise reduction
Cons:
- Requires closer speaking distance than condenser mics
- Sound is less “airy” and detailed than a good condenser
- Gain and settings require more software tweaking
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “This mic has some real weight to it – it’s not some flimsy plastic thing. The weight and build quality feel premium, which gives me confidence it’ll last. Sound quality is clear and crisp. The RGB lighting modes looks very nice. But here’s something I didn’t expect – this mic really needs to be positioned close to you to work optimally. I initially placed it about a foot and a half away and the pickup was much weaker. My webcam’s mic actually captured audio better from a greater distance than that. If I moved the M7 closer few inches from my mouth, you can hear me great. I tried adjusting all the different settings, both on mic and on windows, to no avail. Bottom Line: This is a quality microphone that delivers clear audio and looks professional. Just plan that you may have to position it closer than you might with other mics.”
Customer Review: “After unboxing and plugging in this microphone, I could tell immediately it was a serious upgrade from my previous gaming mic. The look and weight alone gave it a professional feel. And then there’s the color feature. While I don’t stream with video often, my tween daughter made sure to point out how cool it looked when I showed it off. Beyond aesthetics, the performance is what really impressed me. The ability to mute the mic with a touch, along with the helpful change in lighting to indicate status, is a simple but appreciated feature. The noise cancellation works well too, which is great when I’m gaming online or recording voiceover for videos. I used to rely on an external recorder and SD card setup, but this mic allows me to record straight into Adobe Audition with high quality results. Even though I won’t be showing it on screen, I’m glad I upgraded. It looks great on my desk, sounds clean and professional, and streamlines my workflow.”
Complete Buying Guide for Best Cheap Microphones For Gaming
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a cheap gaming microphone, focus on connectivity (USB is standard for ease), polar pattern (cardioid is best for solo gaming/streaming), and noise cancellation quality. A built-in mute button and headphone jack for monitoring are huge pluses. Also, check if it includes a stand or boom arm—this adds significant value. Finally, consider your platform: ensure it’s compatible with your PC, Mac, PS4/5, or Switch.
Budget Planning
The “cheap” gaming mic market ranges from $30 to $80. At the $30-50 mark, expect solid sound and basic features like mute and RGB. From $50-80, you’ll get better noise cancellation, included boom arms, and pro features like headphone monitoring. Don’t overspend on a $100+ “gaming” brand when a $60 third-party option often sounds better and has more features.
Final Thoughts
You absolutely do not need to spend a fortune for great gaming audio. Our top picks prove that. The TONOR TC310+ is our overall winner for its complete kit and performance. If you need a dynamic mic for a noisy room, the XTUGA M7 is a beast. For pure budget value, the RGB Gaming Microphone (#3) is unbeatable. Match the mic’s strengths to your specific setup and needs, and you’ll be crystal clear in no time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a boom arm for a cheap gaming microphone?
A: Not necessarily, but it’s highly recommended. A boom arm gives you better positioning, reduces desk vibrations, and frees up desk space. Many of our top picks, like the TONOR TC310+ and InnoGear, include a decent arm, making them excellent value.
Q: Are USB microphones good enough for streaming?
A: Yes, absolutely. Modern USB condenser mics offer fantastic sound quality, zero-latency monitoring, and plug-and-play simplicity that’s perfect for beginner and intermediate streamers. They are the standard for most non-professional streamers.
Q: What’s the difference between a condenser and dynamic microphone for gaming?
A: Condenser mics (most on this list) are more sensitive and capture more detail, making voices sound clear and “airy.” They are best in quiet rooms. Dynamic mics (like the XTUGA M7) are less sensitive, naturally reject more background noise, and are more rugged. They’re better for loud environments.
Q: Can I use these cheap gaming mics on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox?
Q: How important is a pop filter?
A: Very important for clean audio. A pop filter reduces plosive sounds like “P” and “B” which can cause loud, distorted bursts. Some mics have built-in pop filters (like the COCONISE), while others require you to buy one separately. It’s a cheap accessory that makes a big difference.
