For another, every friend in chat has bluntly commanded me to stop using the controller’s mic; I sound terrible through it, apparently.I simply went back to my old, corded headset. However, friends regularly balked that I had an annoying “echo” caused by the PS5. The issue is, when you disable the PS5’s controller mic, you disable the input ring of the PS5’s TRRS jack. In other words, disable the controller mic, you disable the corded headset mic as well. So, I couldn’t eliminate my pesky echo via software settings.I decided to splurge and get a cordless headset. Initially, I wanted a headset that didn’t need a Bluetooth dongle, seeing as the PS5 supports Bluetooth devices……..So long as said devices aren’t speakers or microphones.So, yeah, I wound up needing the dongle that this headset comes with.
