Customer Review: The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless Gaming Headset was well worth the money! I returned a competitor’s headset yesterday after some frustration and waste of time attempting to get them to function. The Turtle Beach Headset has a transmitter that plugs into the USB port on the Xbox where the other pair had a transmitter that stuck on the controller which is simply annoying and impractical. Anyway, the TB Headset arrived today and within a short time after charging the unit they were functioning beautifully! No searching for directions or solutions! They worked and the sound quality is outstanding. The Stealth 500 Headset is about twice what I paid for the rival’s, but ten times less aggravation!

The headset is comfortable and lightweight with just a good old-fashioned volume knob on one side. No fiddling around with finding hidden buttons. Customer Review: I bought this to replace my broken original in September of 2025. I destroyed the controller they give you, but the headphones are fine. These do the job just fine. I compared the sound quality of my old headphones and these ones and I cannot tell the difference, granted I cannot test the old controller anymore. You see I originally ordered this in July of 2019. That model, made under the old company, held up just fine. It was my favorite and had an amazing sound to it, especially when you activated its surround sound mode. Since the company was bought by HP I was skeptical about what I’d get this time. The new model is made with less materials, feels lighter, and doesn’t extend as far as the old one. It still fits me fine though. I am someone with a big head and so that was a big reason I loved the HyperX Cloud II’s design. The mic is still very low, like the original manufacturer’s. I recommend using a program like Voicemeter to boost your gain on it. When you do that it works perfectly. In the end it feels like the same exact headphones. So if you are an owner of the old model that is near the end of its life and want another, then this is a safe purchase. I am happy with this and hope it will last me another 6 years or more. It’s a great sound, a great value, and pretty long lasting.

Customer Review: TL;DR Review: My previous headset broke, so I chose this one after reading/watching reviews. Comfort and durability are excellent, so far. The mic is good enough for calls and gaming. Initially, I was not impressed with the sound of the headphones (sounded like a low bitrate MP3), but then I realized I needed to plug the headset into my motherboard’s USB ports rather than the front panel ports. I am now very happy with this headset and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, comfortable gaming headset. (Owned for 5 months as of 2/27/16) Full Review: I purchased these to replace my Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset. The Gamecom headset had a 100% plastic headband which snapped one month after the warranty period ended. Apologies in advance, but I sometimes will compare the Cloud II to the Gamecom 780 in this review because its my only point of reference, and I felt like the Gamecom was an excellent headset prior to breakage. Overall, the Cloud II’s have been a worthy replacement, and even an upgrade in many respects, but there are some areas where the Gamecom was better. After looking at YouTube, WireCutter, and Amazon reviews, I settled on the HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. Almost everyone raved about their durability, comfort, and sound. I know a headphone + stand mic combo can provide a better overall experience, but I didn’t feel like spending the ~$200 on that combo just yet. Fit & Finish After they arrived, my initial impression of this headset was that it was very high quality. The fake leather on the earcups and the headband is nice and soft, and the stitching on the headband looks good and provides a nice red accent. The red brushed metal on the exposed parts of the frame is also a nice touch. The microphone detaches and reattaches very easily, although I do prefer a flip-up microphone like on the Gamecom 780. However, that’s just a preference and shouldn’t have any bearing on this review. As for fit, I have a larger head (I’m 6’2″, 215 lbs, and probably have a 7-3/8″ hat size) and these fit very comfortably. I’ve worn them for hours while gaming and never felt like the clamping pressure was too hard. Also, they don’t make my head/ears sweat or anything like that. The pads on the earcups provide a comfortable seal around my ears that blocks out a lot of noise, which can be a pro and a con sometimes. Durability After 5 months of daily use… so far, so good. I recently purchased a hook so I can hang these up rather than just setting them on my desk or on the floor, so hopefully that increases the Cloud II’s longevity, but I still don’t feel like these will break as easily as the Gamecom 780’s. Unless they get stepped on by an elephant or run over by my truck, I don’t think the headband on the Cloud II’s will be snapping after 13 months like the Gamecoms. The drivers in the headphones are still going strong, and the mic still sounds good. I will update if anything changes. Headphone Sound Quality Honestly, the headphones didn’t blow me away at first. There was a noticeable difference from the Gamecom 780’s in this regard. I felt like the sound on the 780’s was awesome for their ~$60 price tag, but the Cloud II’s just didn’t sound as good. It was like listening to 320 kbps vs. 128 kbps MP3. There was a “graininess” (my terminology, sorry) to all sound – gaming, movies, and calls – that was especially noticeable at low volume. After a couple months, it was annoying me so much that I was about ready to buy a good pair of headphones and separate mic. Then I had an epiphany. I always plug my headset (780 or the Clouds) into my front USB ports (Fractal Define R4 case) because sometimes I like to unplug them and listen to movies/podcasts through my speakers. I had tried both the USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports with the Cloud II’s, and the sound was the same on both. One day, I realized I had never plugged them directly into my motherboard’s USB ports (Gigabyte Z170X-UD5). As soon as I did, I noticed an immediate difference in the sound quality. The “graininess” went away and I’m now very happy with the sound quality. I now run a USB extension cable from the back of my computer so I can still easily unplug the headset as needed, and the USB extension doesn’t add any of the noise/bit-rate issues I was experiencing before. Virtual 7.1 Surround Quality I’m really not impressed by the virtual surround performance of the Cloud II’s. I felt like the Gamecom 780’s had a great virtual surround, or at least better than the Cloud II’s. With the Gamecom, I could easily tell when/where an enemy was approaching me in FPS games. With the Cloud II’s, I can hear an enemy approaching, but it’s a lot tougher to tell where they’re coming from. I don’t think it’s enough of a disappointment to lose a star though, since I can try other virtual surround software (Razer) and bypass the “built-in” virtual surround of the Cloud II’s. Microphone Quality The microphone is great for voice chat during games (Discord ftw) and Hangouts calls, but I would get a separate microphone if I was doing anything more than that. I don’t stream to YouTube or Twitch. I don’t record podcasts. I only use it to talk with my friends. They’ve all told me that it sounds clear and noise-free. If and when I do decide to do more, I’ll pick up a Blue Yeti or Audio-Technica ATR-2100 which I know will have a much more professional and richer sound quality at a reasonable price, but I’m not to that point yet. For a ~$99 headset, the microphone is pretty good. Conclusion I would definitely recommend this headset to anyone looking for something that has great quality and is reasonably priced. I’d also recommend plugging it into your motherboard vs. the front panel USB ports to avoid any sound issues. The fit and finish are pretty nice, and it definitely feels more durable than my previous headset. The sound quality is great, but the 7.1 virtual surround experience is not very dependable. The microphone is good for gaming and voice calls, but look for a standalone mic if you’re doing anything more than that. It’s a great headset that does its job admirably, and I don’t think you’ll find better value for the price.

Customer Review: For this price point, I can’t say anything less than 5 stars for this headset. I was originally going to go with a different product until seeing that the Ear Force Recon 50(X) series, was to release on 9/25/15. I decided to give it a try, and figured why not. For $40 it seemed like a steal! For the most part, it is a steal. PROS: –The headset itself is good looking, at first I thought the green would be a little off-putting compared to the color of my other accessories and peripherals, but it actually looks really great. Of course, this part is subjective. –Very lightweight. This thing only weighs a few ounces, and other than the light sensation of the cups on your ears, you could not even know you have it on. –The mic is detachable, which is awesome. –Further, the mic sounds great. It picks up my voice with a pretty good clarity for an entry-level gaming headset, and the attached covering of the mic essentially works as a pop filter. In fact, I have a fan blowing right by me and it manages to cancel the vast majority of the wind rushing into it from the fan. Solid mic. –The sound is pretty good. Bass and highs are on par for this price point, with the mids being the weakest link of the sound stage. For music and movies it is probably not the best choice, although it would still work more than adequately for those uses. Gaming is where it really shines, and the sound quality is more than good enough for my gaming needs. Footsteps are defined, gunshots and explosions sound great, and voices and dialog sound just fine. –Adaptability and Connectivity: It connects to the Xbox One controller that has the 3.5mm plug-in, and works on any Xbox One controller with the Turtle Beach or Microsoft headset adapter. My controller has the plug directly on it, so it works flawlessly without the need of an adapter. Further, it includes an adapter to change the mic/headphones to two separate plugs and I tested it on my PC and it works great for both sound and mic as well. Even though it is marketed as an Xbox One headset, it works just fine on PC and my iPhone. I don’t have a PS4 to try it on, but I would imagine it would work just fine. CONS: –Like mentioned above, the sound is pretty much on par. Nothing special and certainly doesn’t blow your mind with audio fidelity. However for this price range I can’t imagine it gets much better. Mids could be a bit better with frequency range. –The cord is rather short. Granted, this model is targeted specifically towards the Xbox One, so plugging it into the controller with the cord length is more than enough, and nice because you don’t have a huge bundle of cord on your lap when it is plugged into your controller. However, for use with a PC or other device you might need to purchase a 4 pole 3.5mm extension cable to make it a bit longer. I managed to find several on Amazon for a few bucks, so if this is a problem for you I would recommend going the extension cable route instead of disregarding this headset. OVERALL: I rated 5, but would probably give closer to a 4.5. For $40 (current price at time of writing, the day this headset has been released), it is a great deal. I am very happy with it, and use it as my main headset for my Xbox now, and a backup for my PC. Very comfortable, lightweight, sound is more than adequate in terms of quality, and it works with a multitude of devices. For gaming, it is just an all-around great entry-level headset.

Customer Review: I got these to replace my A50s and they did not disappoint! You don’t have as much control over the chat volume and game volume like you do with the A50s but it’s not a deal breaker for me. You can still control it on the headset with the buttons, but you can’t dial it in exactly how you’d want it. So thing to give up for the price point! Super convenient that it has a usb you plug into the console to connect it. I’ve never had any issues with connecting right away either. The fit is fine for me but it has rather a boxy shape to it but I still find it comfy. Have played for 12 hours straight and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all! The sound quality is great and you can hear so much going on in the game. Helped catch several people trying to sneak up on me in BF6

I’d never heard of RIG before my wife bought me a wired set for my birthday. They were fantastic. The way these are designed, they keep the weight of the headset off of your head.. The only reason you know these are on is because of your ears. Sound quality, the environmental quality (eg. hear it left, you see it left when you turn left – Positioning, maybe? I dunno.. these are great for “positional hearing”) I put the set my wife bought me on my seat and went to the bathroom.. came back, and sat on em and broke them.. I may have had a few beers.. So, I enjoyed the headset so I looked at current RIG offerings, and came across this wireless set. Now, I’ve been thru the expensive ones, the “popular brand” ones.. and they were all crap. Batteries failed, didn’t last., no distance… whatever. So, I wrote off “wireless” headsets. BUT, with RIG, I was so impressed with the wired headset I sat on and broke, I saw this wireless set and decided to give it a go. I’ve been a gamer since, literally, Pong. I have been in IT for over three decades. I’m impressed.. from the quality of the sound, the quality of the Mic, the battery life… EVERYTHING. Still the same lightweight “band” that keeps the headset weight off your head.. You won’t be disappointed unless you get a unit that isn’t 100% functional from the factory like mine is… and lets face reality.. nothing is 100% in manufacturing. I’ve not had to deal with returns, refunds, or replacement… just a happy old guy who was impressed with the quality for the price. If you’re in the market and doing the due dilligence research… Like Nike Said… Just Do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Customer Review: These headphones, which are the arctic nova five X wireless have the same exact drivers as the series 7 pro wireless. Nova has a 50 to 60 hour battery life. The seven has two interchangeable 20 hour batteries. Nova get one gold star lol. The nova has a companion app for your cell phone that allows you to control the equalizer and over 260 different presets for all different sounds. The series 7, requires you to connect to your computer with a wire via an extra peripheral called a gameDAC , and this thing would be convenient, but can’t hold remotely as much presets as the companion app for the cell phone for the nova. The nova can also be connected to your computer to add custom presets to your app which allows even more diversity, but you don’t need to. Nova gets another gold star. This year the nova introduced a new microphone that blows the series 7 microphone out of the water as far as sound quality And that’s another gold star for the nova. The nova has double wishbone suspension as a pull it to hold the cups firmly on the ears. The series 7 has only one arm on one side of each headphone cup. This can fatigue, the arm after a while, causing the cup to become a little relaxed, and it does not grip the head as hard. The nova is not too tight, but it is snug to keep the sound in. The series 7, also costs almost 3 times as much as the Nova 5x. The series 7 is made with aluminum and nicer materials, but they are also all interchangeable except for the main solid headband that goes across the top. Where as the nova five is made out of material and a thick plastic, it depends really on if you like aluminum or not, but you can’t tell by looking at it that’s just another difference. I have two friends now that bought the seven after I bought the five and they are very upset. I think I got mine on Amazon for under $120 and they spent a little over $300 for theirs. they are happy with the headphone because they’re a good headphones but they’re not happy that they spent the money not realizing that the series 7 is definitely going to be refreshed this coming year. Save yourself the money do you research steel series versus steel series on YouTube you’ll find everything you need to know about the two of them versus each other. This way to save your money for some more video games.. PS because of the 2.4 GHz/Bluetooth dongle. I was able to get the Xbox version faster and still connect it to my PlayStation five. Using the 2.4 GHz dongle. The only difference between the seven and the five is that the seven can connect to your console or computer and still using 2.4 GHz use two channel Bluetooth to also answer the phone. Then number five I believe has 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, but you have to switch between the two of them when using the game console at least but the phone will ring in your ear to let you know you have a cold you just have to switch with one button on the side of the head. I think you’ll find the pricing a little confusing as the pros seven series also seems to fluctuate in price between the Xbox, the PC and the PlayStation version as much as $50 difference between them and there is no difference between them literally so I don’t know why there’s a fluctuation in pricing. Somebody knows I’m not sure if you can reply to my review but let me know? I hope this all helps. Just make sure if you do get the Xbox version for the PlayStation five that you have the 2.4 GHz dongle. It’s a long rectangle. It’s about 2 inches at best but it has a toggle switch. I got the Xbox one because it shipped immediately. I was gonna have to wait a few days more for the PC or the PlayStation version. I’ll tell you that the companion app on the cell phone does wonders using the 260+ presets for the EQ switch instantaneously and on the flight consistently without having to plug into the computer. And without having to worry about a gameDAC or two separate rechargeable battery packs that you have to swap into your ear every 20 hours when you just plug in the series 5 and get 60 hours worth of play. It’s not standby time by the way that’s playtime. You can play every day for eight hours a day for a whole week and still have some hours left over the sound quality is great and you’re just listening to music using your phone they pound. !!!

Customer Review: I had used the PlayStation exclusive headphones for the PS4 and PS5, and at the end of that journey I’m quite disappointed. Both pairs made my ears uncomfortable after having worn them for maybe 30 minutes. They would always cut out whether the dongle was plugged into the back of the PlayStation or into the front. I know that Sony’s pretty good about updating their firmware so there shouldn’t have been any issues in that regard. I spent so long asking people and reading through reviews until I finally settled upon these. So far I’m not disappointed! The ones that are labeled for Xbox are $50 cheaper than the ones labeled for PlayStation, and they’re the exact same thing. And the “Xbox” branded ones are compatible with PlayStation, Switch, PC, and mobile. They can also switch to Bluetooth mode if you don’t want to use the dongle, and the sound quality for music using my phone was actually pretty decent for middle of the road. The retractable microphone and alleged up to 60 hours of battery life makes the fact that they’re lightweight even better. And the most important part, they’re comfortable. They adjust to accommodate most head sizes I would assume. These gaming headphones are a great recommendation from me! I did read one review where somebody complained about the mic quality. After doing a mic test on my PlayStation I haven’t had any complaints from people that I’ve spoken to. Decent quality, design, and volume control
