2. acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop

acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop Intel i5-13420H NVIDIA RTX 4050 15.6-inch 8

The Acer Nitro V is our Editor’s Choice for budget-conscious video editors who need real GPU power. It pairs a capable Intel i5-13420H processor with an NVIDIA RTX 4050 graphics card, which is a game-changer for accelerating render times and enabling smooth timeline playback in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro. The 15.6-inch 165Hz display is great for gaming but also provides a fluid visual experience when scrubbing through footage. While the 8GB of RAM is its main limiting factor, this is an easily upgradeable component, making it a fantastic foundation for a powerful editing rig on a budget.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with 4GB VRAM for hardware-accelerated encoding and effects
  • ✓ 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate for buttery-smooth playback

  • ✓ 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD for fast project and media file loading
  • ✓ Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and a decent selection of ports including HDMI and USB-C

Why We Recommend It

This laptop earns the Editor’s Choice because it delivers the most critical component for modern video editing—a dedicated GPU—at a price that was unthinkable a few years ago. The RTX 4050 supports NVIDIA’s NVENC encoder, which dramatically speeds up H.264/HEVC export. It’s a future-proof starting point; you can buy it now and upgrade the RAM to 32GB later, effectively creating a professional-capable machine for the price of many ultrabooks alone.

Best For

Editors working with 1080p and light 4K footage, gamers who also edit, and anyone who needs GPU acceleration for effects or color grading but is working with a sub-$1000 budget.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent price-to-performance ratio thanks to the RTX 4050 GPU
  • High 165Hz refresh rate screen makes timeline navigation feel smooth
  • Strong cooling performance for sustained CPU/GPU loads
  • RAM and storage are user-upgradeable, extending the laptop’s lifespan
Cons:
  • Only 8GB of RAM included, which is insufficient for serious multitasking and needs an immediate upgrade
  • Build quality is mostly plastic and less premium than other options
  • Battery life is poor under load, typical for gaming laptops
  • Fans can get loud during intensive rendering tasks

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Excellent laptop. Runs much quieter and cooler then my Helios. Very fast. Works well for what I use it for mainly World of Warcraft but handles other games quite well. Very pleased with this purchase.

Customer Review: Very nice computer. I can play all the new games. The only thing that didn’t like it is the sound of the fans. It has two fans and when you set the computer to high performance, the computer almost lifts from the desk with the extreme high sound of the fans.

Editors on a tight budget who primarily work with 1080p footage, students in film or media programs, and creators who need a reliable machine for both editing and general productivity without the need for a high-end dedicated GPU.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Incredible value with a true 8-core CPU and 16GB RAM out of the box
  • Strong multi-threaded CPU performance ideal for video rendering
  • Fast SSD and good RAM capacity for smooth multitasking

4. HP 15-fc0099nr Laptop

HP 15.6-inch Touchscreen Laptop AMD Ryzen 3 7320U 8GB RAM 128GB SSD Ra

The HP 15.6-inch Touchscreen Laptop is a versatile option for beginners who appreciate the intuitive control of a touch display. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U and 8GB of RAM, it’s built for everyday tasks and light editing. The 15.6-inch HD touchscreen is a neat feature for navigating timelines or quick adjustments, though it’s not a color-accurate professional panel. This machine is best suited for editing phone footage in simple, optimized software. Its main appeal is the familiar HP build quality, a responsive touch interface, and a very low entry price for a 15.6-inch form factor.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 15.6-inch HD micro-edge touchscreen display for intuitive navigation
  • ✓ AMD Ryzen 3 7320U processor with Radeon Graphics for basic video tasks
  • ✓ 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD, sufficient for very light 1080p projects
  • ✓ Windows 11 S mode, easily switchable to full Windows for software flexibility
  • ✓ Long battery life and a slim, portable design

Why We Recommend It

We recommend this HP model for the beginner who wants a large, interactive screen without the complexity of a high-end machine. The touchscreen is a genuinely useful tool for quickly scrubbing through clips or making rough cuts, which can speed up the initial editing process. It’s a no-stress, easy-to-use package that gets you started with video creation immediately, serving as a perfect stepping stone before upgrading to more powerful hardware.

Best For

Absolute beginners, older users, or students who prefer touch interaction and need a large screen for basic video editing of smartphone clips, social media content, or school projects.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Responsive touchscreen is great for simple editing gestures
  • Very affordable price for a 15.6-inch laptop with a modern AMD APU
  • Compact and lightweight for its screen size
  • Good battery life for general web browsing and light tasks
Cons:
  • Only 8GB of RAM, which is the absolute minimum for any video editing
  • 128GB SSD fills up incredibly fast with media files
  • Ryzen 3 7320U is underpowered for anything beyond 1080p proxy editing
  • Display is not color-accurate; avoid for any color-critical work

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Great laptop except letters on the keys were very light. Really couldn’t ser them. Had to buy a keyboard skin and that solved the problem

5. 2026 Laptop

2026 15.6-inch Laptop AMD Ryzen 4300U 3.7GHz 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD Windo

The 2026 Laptop (model LX15PRO) is a value-focused machine that packs a surprising amount of memory and storage. Its AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor is a step down from the Ryzen 7 models, but the inclusion of 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD at this price is noteworthy. This balance makes it a decent option for 1080p editing where system RAM is often a bigger bottleneck than CPU speed. It’s a no-frills workhorse that prioritizes having enough memory to keep multiple applications and browser tabs open while you edit, which is a real-world advantage over more powerful but RAM-starved laptops.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD included, avoiding immediate upgrade costs
  • ✓ AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor (4 cores, 4 threads) for basic multitasking
  • ✓ 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a backlit keyboard
  • ✓ Good port selection including USB-C, HDMI, and multiple USB-A ports
  • ✓ Windows 11 Pro pre-installed for a more professional OS experience

Why We Recommend It

We recommend this laptop for the editor on an extreme budget who knows that RAM is key for a smooth editing experience. While the Ryzen 3 CPU is modest, the 16GB of RAM allows you to work with larger projects and more effects than you could on an 8GB system. It’s a pragmatic choice that puts resources where they matter most for entry-level editing: memory and storage, not raw CPU power.

Best For

Budget-first buyers, students, and hobbyists who prioritize having enough RAM to avoid slowdowns during multitasking and are willing to accept longer render times for the sake of affordability.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Excellent value with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD standard
  • Backlit keyboard is a rare and welcome feature at this price
  • Good set of ports for connecting external drives and monitors
  • Windows 11 Pro included, adding value for business/student use
Cons:
  • Ryzen 3 4300U is a low-power CPU; renders will be slow
  • No dedicated GPU; relies on integrated Radeon graphics
  • Display quality is basic; not suitable for color-critical work
  • Build quality is utilitarian; uses a lot of plastic

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I bought this 15.6 inch FHD IPS laptop for my research work, and I’m very happy with it. The AMD Ryzen 3 4300U is fast enough for daily tasks, and the 16GB RAM with 512GB SSD makes my research tools smooth and quick. The screen is clear, and the backlit keyboard is very helpful at night. I received it in about three days. The tracking still says “running late,” but the laptop is definitely not late! Overall, this laptop offers excellent value for research after half month’s use.

Customer Review: Its a nice laptop with great build quality, vibrant colors, sharp and big screen. Sound quality is also good. Connect flawlessly to my wifi. Came with windows 11 preinstalled. Have good storage space and came in with 16gb of ram as well. Its fast enough for day to day regular and office use. Web surfing is flawless on this. Overall nice laptop at this price.

6. acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop

acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop Intel i5-13420H NVIDIA RTX 4050 15.6-inch 8

This is a second listing for the Acer Nitro V with a slightly different ASIN, but it represents the same core configuration: an Intel i5-13420H and an RTX 4050 GPU. It’s included here as an alternative purchasing option. The strengths and weaknesses are identical to the #2 pick: outstanding GPU performance for the price, held back by insufficient 8GB of RAM. The user reviews highlight that while it’s great for gaming, it requires some tweaking and an immediate RAM upgrade to reach its full potential for editing. The high 165Hz screen is a bonus for smooth playback.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU for excellent hardware-accelerated performance
  • ✓ Intel Core i5-13420H processor with strong single-threaded speed
  • ✓ 15.6-inch Full HD 165Hz IPS display for fluid motion
  • ✓ 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD for fast storage
  • ✓ User-upgradeable RAM and storage, a key advantage

Why We Recommend It

We include this specific listing because availability and pricing can fluctuate on Amazon. If you find this model at a better price than the #2 pick, it’s essentially the same laptop. The core recommendation stands: buy it for the GPU, plan to upgrade the RAM to 32GB immediately, and you’ll have a highly capable 1080p/light 4K editing machine for a great price.

Best For

Price-sensitive editors who need the GPU power of the Nitro V and are comfortable performing a simple RAM upgrade themselves to unlock the laptop’s true potential.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Powerful RTX 4050 GPU at a competitive price
  • High refresh rate screen makes editing feel responsive
  • Upgradeable design extends usability for years
  • Good cooling solution for sustained performance
Cons:
  • Only 8GB RAM included; an upgrade is essential for editing
  • Plastic build feels less premium
  • Battery life is very short when gaming or rendering
  • Fan noise can be intrusive during heavy workloads

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: So far this laptop has been great. It has the ability to play Hogwarts Legacy, which is what I purchased it for the old Acer we had was over 12 years old lost some keys and eventually the keyboard stopped working and it overheated quickly and the battery died very quick after years of use. I went with the Acer because the last one had lasted so long and performed so well. The lights on the keyboard are super cool and you can turn them off if you don’t want them there are a lot of additional buttons for gamers and that is a nice addition to a laptop. It’s not loud and the extra fan definitely helps with cooling. It seems to work very fast. Had it over a month and many games have been played on it so far and it is performed wonderfully for its price base. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Customer Review: I’ve been using this computer for a while now, it works very well, but there are times when it stutters, the FPS drops to 0, which usually takes less than 1 second, but it’s still very annoying. The screen’s 165Hz refresh rate is spectacular, but I did an online test and I’m almost certain it has ghosting, which is also quite annoying. Also it’s a bit slow when performing various tasks, such as opening the browser or simply changing categories on Steam.I’m going to add more RAM since the 8GB it has doesn’t seem enough to me; I even think that might be the root of the problem I mentioned. So, I’ll try to upgrade to 32GB of RAM.But despite all of the above, it’s still a very good computer. I like that it comes with the Nitro Sense application and also with Intel’s graphics software, since it allows for some customization. The camera looks good and works smoothly in good lighting, but the computer doesn’t have anything to cover the camera. You have 3 fan options: silent, balanced, and performance. Expect a lot of noise from the fan in performance mode. Also, another bad thing is that when I connected my headphones with a built-in microphone, the computer only recognized it as audio output, not as both audio input and output, so I had a lot of problems with that. I even had to restart my PC in safe mode to reset everything because I had no sound anymore, so be careful with that, If you experience the same issue, simply open the Realtek Audio Console application, then go to advanced device settings and program it as an input and output. So I think it’s a very good computer. You have to do a couple of things beforehand to be ready to use it for gaming or anything like that, but I don’t think I’ll be changing it for a long time. Just add more RAM and you’ll probably be good to go. I’ll update this review when I add more RAM to let you know if there are any changes to the stuttering. So my final thoughts on this laptop are that I wish it were more of a turn-on, ready-to-use thing, but I guess you can’t expect that at this price. Despite that, I give it 5 stars

7. 2026 Laptop

2026 15.6-inch Laptop AMD Ryzen 4300U 3.7GHz 16GB DDR4 512GB SSD Radeo

This second 2026-branded laptop (model LX15PRO) shares the same AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor and 16GB/512GB configuration as the #5 pick. It’s presented as an alternative with potentially different pricing or availability. The value proposition remains identical: a budget laptop that prioritizes RAM and storage capacity over raw CPU power. User reviews praise its fast boot times, smooth multitasking for regular use, and good port selection. It’s a reliable, no-name brand option for those who need a functional machine for everyday tasks and light video editing without the brand premium.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD, excellent for the price
  • ✓ AMD Ryzen 3 4300U processor for competent everyday performance
  • ✓ 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a backlit keyboard
  • ✓ Wide array of ports: USB 3.2, USB-C, HDMI, headphone jack, and TF card reader
  • ✓ Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, Windows 11 pre-installed

Why We Recommend It

We recommend this as a value alternative to the #5 model. If you find this listing at a lower price or with better shipping, it’s functionally the same machine. The core strength is the same: providing 16GB of RAM, which is the single most important upgrade for smooth video editing on a tight budget. It proves you don’t need to spend a lot to get a usable amount of memory.

Best For

Shoppers looking for the absolute best deal on a 16GB/512GB laptop for light editing, general use, and schoolwork, who don’t mind a lesser-known brand in exchange for significant savings.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Unbeatable value for 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD
  • Fast boot times and responsive general performance
  • Excellent port selection for peripherals and external drives
  • Backlit keyboard is a premium feature at this price point
Cons:
  • Low-power Ryzen 3 CPU limits rendering and export speed
  • Integrated graphics only; no help from a dedicated GPU
  • Display is adequate but not color-accurate for grading
  • Brand has less recognition and potentially less robust customer service

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Runs on a newer Intel N97 processor, which makes it noticeably faster than older budget chips, so it handles multitasking, streaming, web browsing, and light work smoothly.Has 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, it starts up quickly and feels responsive.Full HD, 15.6 inch screen looks bright and clear, and the thin bezel design make it feel modern and compact. It has all the ports you’d normally need, including three USB 3.2, a type C, an HDMI, a headphone jack , a security lock , and even a spot for a TF card, along with fast WiFi and Bluetooth. It’s charger/ adapter is light weight. The battery is decent for regular use, and the lightweight metal design of the laptop makes it easy to carry around.Good choice if you want an affordable laptop that feels fast and reliable for everyday tasks. Comes with Windows 11. It’s Keyboard and mouse pad are smooth. It’s my laptop of choice to take to the cafe to get work done , as it’s light weight , good size and fast enough, and fits in my purse.

Customer Review: Good cost effective laptop solution. It has enough ports . See the pictures attached. Setup was a breeze. Reasonably good performance for most of the purpose, though don’t expect the performance of a high end gaming device , this is not meant for that kind of use. There are usb c ports, however charging uses a different custom port , that is the only I thing I wish if it was different. Make sure you are attaching the charging cable to correct port , as it can just go into audio port as well by mistake – see my picture I did that mistake

8. 2026 Gaming Laptop

2026 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 7 6800H 32GB RAM 1TB SSD Window

The 2026 Gaming Laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H and 32GB of RAM is a serious contender for intermediate editors. The Ryzen 7 6800H is a 45W TDP mobile CPU offering excellent multi-core performance, and 32GB of RAM is the sweet spot for smooth 4K editing and heavy multitasking. It also includes a massive 1TB SSD. While it lacks a dedicated GPU (relying on integrated Radeon 680M graphics), the CPU and RAM combo is so strong that it can handle 4K proxy editing and complex timelines in software that is CPU-bound. The standout here is the RAM and storage capacity at a price that undercuts many brand-name competitors.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor (8 cores, 16 threads) with 45W TDP for sustained performance
  • ✓ Massive 32GB LPDDR5 RAM for effortless 4K timeline scrubbing and multitasking
  • ✓ Huge 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD for ample project and media file storage
  • ✓ 15.6-inch Full HD display with a high refresh rate
  • ✓ Comprehensive 2-year manufacturer warranty, a rare and valuable feature

Why We Recommend It

We recommend this laptop for the editor who needs maximum RAM and a powerful CPU but is working with a mid-range budget that doesn’t include a high-end GPU. The combination of a 45W Ryzen 7 and 32GB of LPDDR5 is devastatingly effective for CPU-intensive editing tasks. It’s proof that you don’t always need a dedicated GPU for professional results; raw memory bandwidth and multi-core speed can be just as important for certain workflows.

Best For

Editors working with 4K footage (using proxies), documentary filmmakers with long timelines, and anyone who runs multiple heavy applications (like After Effects + Premiere) simultaneously. Ideal for CPU-bound editing software like DaVinci Resolve.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Outstanding price for 32GB of RAM and a powerful 8-core Ryzen 7 CPU
  • 1TB SSD provides ample space for large projects and media libraries
  • 2-year warranty offers great peace of mind
  • Strong integrated Radeon 680M graphics for light GPU tasks
  • Excellent port selection for connecting external monitors and drives
Cons:

  • Integrated graphics limit 4K timeline playback without proxies
  • Build quality is good but not on par with premium brands like Dell XPS or Apple
  • Battery life is average for a high-performance laptop

Customer Reviews

10. 2026 Gaming Laptop

2026 16-inch Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 4.5GHz 16GB 512GB SSD Win

The final entry is another 2026-branded laptop, this time a 16-inch model with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The key differentiator is the larger 16-inch screen, which provides more screen real estate for your editing timeline and panels. The Ryzen 7 7730U is the same capable 8-core, 16-thread processor found in the #3 model, offering strong multi-core performance. This is a great option if you prioritize screen size for a more immersive editing experience but still want to stay within a moderate budget. The integrated Radeon graphics are the same, so it’s best for CPU-bound editing tasks.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Large 16-inch Full HD IPS display for a spacious editing workspace
  • ✓ Powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor (8 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.5GHz)
  • ✓ 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD for solid everyday performance
  • ✓ Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and a good selection of ports
  • ✓ Windows 11 pre-installed, with a backlit keyboard

Why We Recommend It

We recommend this laptop for editors who feel cramped on a 15.6-inch screen. The jump to 16 inches with a 16:9 aspect ratio gives you noticeably more horizontal space for your tracks and bins, which can significantly improve workflow efficiency. Combined with the reliable performance of the Ryzen 7 7730U, it’s a practical choice for 1080p and light 4K proxy editing where screen real estate is a priority but you don’t need (or want to pay for) a dedicated GPU.

Best For

Editors who work with multiple video and audio tracks, colorists who need to see more of the scopes, and anyone who simply prefers a larger screen for comfort during long editing sessions, all on a budget that doesn’t include a discrete graphics card.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Large 16-inch screen provides excellent workspace for editing software
  • Strong Ryzen 7 7730U CPU with 8 cores for good rendering performance
  • 16GB RAM is sufficient for 1080p and light 4K proxy editing
  • Good value for a laptop with a 16-inch display and an 8-core CPU
  • Backlit keyboard and modern connectivity options
Cons:
  • No dedicated GPU; limited to integrated Radeon graphics
  • 16-inch size makes it less portable than 14 or 15.6-inch models
  • Display quality is average; not calibrated for professional color work
  • Battery life is not exceptional for a laptop of this size

Customer Review: My daughter first saw this laptop at her friend’s house and really wanted one. When I checked online, I noticed it’s not a well-known brand, so I hesitated at first.Later, I saw it in person and watched them use it. The system runs smoothly, the screen is clear, and the design is simple and elegant. It handles homework and everyday tasks without any lag.In the end, I realized that brand name isn’t everything. If it works well and my daughter loves it, that’s what matters most.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Laptop for Video Editing

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a laptop for video editing, you must prioritize components that directly impact your workflow. The CPU (processor) is the heart of rendering and exporting; look for high core counts from Intel (i5/i7/i9) or AMD (Ryzen 5/7/9). The GPU (graphics card) is crucial for real-time effects, color grading, and GPU-accelerated encoding; NVIDIA’s RTX series with NVENC is the industry standard. RAM determines how many applications and effects you can run simultaneously; 16GB is the absolute minimum, but 32GB is the sweet spot for 4K work. Storage should be a fast NVMe SSD (PCIe 3.0 or 4.0) to load projects and media instantly; 512GB is a start, but 1TB is more comfortable. Finally, the display should be as color-accurate as your budget allows (look for 100% sRGB or P3 coverage) and have a resolution of at least Full HD (1920×1080).

Budget Planning

Your budget dictates the trade-offs. Under $600: You’ll get a laptop with a weak CPU but possibly decent RAM (like the HP Stream or 2026 models). Focus on RAM capacity here. $600-$1000: The sweet spot for beginners. You can find laptops with a dedicated GPU (RTX 4050/3050) and a good CPU (like the Acer Nitro V), but RAM will likely be 8GB, requiring an upgrade. $1000-$2000: You can get a professional-grade machine with a strong CPU (Ryzen 7/9 or Intel i7), 32GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a dedicated RTX GPU. Over $2000: You’re paying for premium build, exceptional displays (OLED/4K), and top-tier mobile workstations like the Dell XPS 17 or MacBook Pro.

Final Thoughts

Don’t overbuy for your current needs, but avoid severely underpowered machines that will frustrate you in a year. The best laptop for video editing is the one that matches your specific editing resolution, software, and budget. For most beginners starting with 1080p, a laptop with a good CPU and 16GB RAM (like the AMD Ryzen 7 model) is perfect. For those jumping into 4K, prioritize a dedicated GPU and 32GB RAM. Remember, you can often upgrade RAM and storage later, but the CPU and GPU are soldered. Choose wisely based on your long-term goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use a gaming laptop for video editing?

A: Absolutely. Gaming laptops are often the best value for video editors because they come with powerful CPUs and dedicated GPUs (like NVIDIA’s RTX series) that are perfect for accelerating video renders and effects. The main downsides are shorter battery life and a more aggressive, gamer-centric design.

Q: Is 16GB RAM enough for video editing?

A: 16GB is the minimum recommended for 1080p editing. It allows you to run your editing software, a browser with several tabs, and have a few effects applied. For 4K editing, multicam projects, or using After Effects simultaneously, 32GB is strongly recommended to avoid slowdowns and crashes.

Q: Do I need a dedicated GPU for video editing?

Q: What’s more important: CPU or GPU for video editing?

A: It depends on your software and workflow. For rendering and exporting, a fast multi-core CPU is paramount. For real-time playback with effects, color grading, and GPU-accelerated effects, a powerful GPU is key. Ideally, you want a balance of both. Software like DaVinci Resolve relies heavily on GPU, while Premiere Pro uses both.

Q: Should I get a laptop with a 4K display for editing?

A: Not necessarily. A 4K display is sharp but puts a huge strain on your GPU to play back 4K footage smoothly. Many professionals edit at 1080p or 1440p on a 4K display, but a high-quality Full HD (1920×1080) or QHD (2560×1440) display with 100% sRGB coverage and factory calibration is often a better, more affordable choice for color-accurate work.

Finding the right laptop for your video editing journey doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By focusing on your specific needs—whether it’s raw CPU power, GPU acceleration, or screen real estate—you can pick a machine that empowers your creativity without emptying your wallet.
