Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’m giving this keyboard a 1 star – and in all categories (which it doesn’t deserve 1 star for all) as it appears Amazon is screwing us over by providing the overall rating from the spec stars, not the overall star ratings like it used to for decade+ now (Amazon’s fall from being extraordinary into monopolistic misery has been sad to witness, embracing stupidity over improving delivery). I typically don’t pay attention to 1-star reviews suspecting trolling, competitor sabotage or a poor customer service experience (which we shouldn’t ignore, but sadly poor customer service is the norm for many companies). But I’m doing it anyways for the following 2 reasons. The worst aspect of this keyboard is it doesn’t remember how you left lighting set, so after a reboot, it’s back to its default annoying blinking state and I have to change it back to what I want (I don’t want blinking or breathing or whatever, I want solid color all the time – and I still haven’t figured out how to get it to the state I like directly, having to fuss with the settings until I get what I want). The other problem is a strange limitation of not allowing me to pick a solid color; I want it all red (which I can kinda do if I program the color for every key – not doing that). You may be asking yourself, dude, why didn’t you get a red backlit keyboard – well, I can’t find one. The Microsoft Sidewinder keyboard was the perfect keyboard for me back in the day, but they’ve been out of production for years and I’m not interested in purchasing a used keyboard. I found this one scouting around for a keyboard that would present solid red that doesn’t blink or breath, hoping this one will do the trick (seemed like it would).Anyways, I can live with a solid multi-color lit keyboard (it is very pretty), which I can configure this keyboard to be solid at least, but not happy I have to set it up each time to not blink or breathe. If it would recall the last state the keyboard was in when I shut down my computer so I don’t have to set it up every time, I wouldn’t have bothered to submit feedback as it is a very pretty keyboard.Aside from my criticism, it is a very nice pretty keyboard for the price. So, if you’re looking for a good quality keyboard (mechanical, low noise, soft feel) that multi-color blinks (meaning it is changing back and forth its multi-color lighting, like a holiday tree), this is a good choice for the money. The mouse appears pretty good, nice looking.

Customer Review: Seems to be very high quality. The keyboard is weighty, and the keys perfectly balanced for a nice tactile feedback. The mouse also is well designed, and has perfect response pressure. The mouse connected to the receiver instantly. I struggled with the keyboard connecting wirelessly……… until I CAREFULLY read the instructions. I kept substituting the USB connector (cable) for the USB receiver. Turn on the keyboard BEFORE you plug in the receiver dongle. It won’t connect if you turn the keyboard on after the dongle is plugged in. I had to fidget with it til I read the instructions carefully and got the order of operations correct. I’m using the 2.4gHz wireless connection for both keyboard and mouse. Distance from my table with mouse and keyboard to the computer with dongle receiver is about 10 feet. The computer is what drives my main 65″ 4k television in the living room. BTW, I am not a gamer, but gaming equipment seems to be optimized for better performance. I don’t yet know how long a battery charge lasts, but being rechargeable is a major plus in my opinion.Having lived with this keyboard and mouse for a few months, I find the battery charge in the mouse needs to be recharged fairly frequently. The keyboard and mouse will respond quickly with the computer. HOWEVER, having said that, they both go to “sleep” if not used for a couple minutes apparently to save the battery charge, and you have to wait a few seconds after striking a key, or moving the mouse, for them to wake up and reconnect. I’m used to not having to do that, so I think the rechargeable batteries inside these devices must be very small. It isn’t really a big issue, once you get used to it, but I do find it annoying a bit. In the upper right hand corner of the keyboard are LED’s labeled 1, A, and M. When the “1” is lit red, the keyboard is connected.Several month followup : I am retiring this keyboard and mouse. The reason ?? The delay reconnecting after it goes to sleep. I will be looking for a different setup. It works great WHILE it’s connected, but the keyboard goes to sleep really fast, and it takes a few seconds for it to wake up and reconnect. This process has become annoying enough that I want something better.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’d never had wireless keyboards or mice until recently. Wanting to get away from “wire spaghetti” on my desk made getting a set a logical choice. The first one I bought was from SABLUTE, yeah, I hadn’t heard of it either but it sounded good in the reviews. Within the first day I noticed that the keys were sticking. Within the first week I noticed that the paint on the clear keys for the backlighting was wearing through. I returned it to Amazon.THEN I bought this set. It was a little more pricey but at least it was a brand I could find a real webstore for! Once I received it I charged them completely before trying them out. There was no more sticking keys & so far there’s no sign of wear on the keys either. It is a full size keyboard. The mouse is full size as well. (I hate the mini-mice!) The buttons on both the mouse & KB are GREAT. I’m still getting used to adjusting my mouse speed & using the side buttons for going back & forth on my browser. Functionally, I can’t complain at all! The build quality is quite obviously superior to the other brand. I have to charge my mouse more than the I do the keyboard but the batteries on both seem pretty good, for the moment. The only downside is that if you use both mouse & KB controls be careful about the keyboard falling asleep. It can take five to ten seconds to reconnect so make sure you toggle keys frequently to keep it awake for if you’re going to be gaming with these. The key takeaway is that this KB is of higher quality than the competitor brands here on Amazon, at least compared to the other I tried & is worth the ten or so extra bucks.

Customer Review: If you can spare two USB ports, this set is a fantastic bargain. Maybe there’s more customization on more expensive gaming keyboards – this is my first step into the field. However, everything works great and I honestly have no complaints. It exceeded my expectations so far (A month or two of use so far).2020 Update:I liked my first Redragon set enough to buy a second set for at work. The price is still right, and everything still looks and feels great. A few things have changed, though. The keyboard is now RGB backlit rather than plain unlit keys with red LED embellishments. There are FN controls to regulate the “breathing” (light-dark pulsing) of the keyboard, which is good because I found it distracting. The included instruction booklet lists these key combinations. FN+END pauses and unpauses breathing. FN+PGDN enables and disables the backlight entirely. FN+PGUP rotates through 3 still rainbow lighting arrangements. FN+HOME rotates through 7 monochromatic colors (white, blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and cyan). FN+INS smoothly transitions through the 7 colors over the course of a few seconds, though to my eyes the brightness was uneven. FN+UP and FN+DN scale through 4 levels of brightness, and FN+LEFT and FN+RIGHT scale through 4 speeds of animation. For my money, the backlight will be kept motionless on a monochrome light, but to each their own.All told, very happy with the keyboard. It also features two new sets of buttons above the F-row, which are oddly not backlit. The set to left of center includes links to My Computer, Search, Refresh, Email, Calculator, and Home Page. The keys to the right are media controls for Stop, Last Track, Play/Pause, and Next Track. These are all fine, but unnecessary since the F-row already has FN shortcuts to most of these things, and the topmost row, again, isn’t backlit. And we have the mouse. It feels identical to the previous mouse, though it has 4 DPI settings rather than 3. There’s a catch though, which is that the mouse backlight (red only) is set to “breathe” by default. To disable this, you’ll need to download software from the Redragon support page. Although my mouse and keyboard both list their parts # as S101-3, the mouse is actually a M601-3 CENTROPHORUS. You’ll need to download the drivers for this mouse in order to disable breathing. All the way left on the software’s slider will disable the light fully, and all the way right will leave it permanently backlit (my preference). The other new thing with the mouse is that a LED flashes when you change DPI; it’s flash speed correlating to how high the DPI is. It seems unnecessary but harmless. All told, my first impression is that the addition of pulsing lights just makes first time setup harder as you need to track down the software for the mouse and learn the keyboard controls. I want to take off a half point for the mouse not having a hardware option to disable the light, but all told I’ll keep my rating at a 5 as the backlit keys are actually an improvement once you learn how to freeze them.*****2023 update – I deep cleaned the mouse some time ago and since it was beginning to wear off, I removed the painted black dragon silhouette from the mouse where the palm lies, revealing clear plastic underneath. Don’t do that. The reason being, that my palm has slowly developed an irritation which has lasted weeks directly where that LED is closest when holding the mouse. I just now connected the dots and opened it again to insert some paper on top of it, but if my hand doesn’t clear up within a week I’ll remove the LED entirely and see if that helps. (Photo doesn’t really do justice to the palm, but anyway trust me it’s not great to keep LEDs millimeters from your skin without filtration of some kind.)I’ll update if this does/doesn’t resolve things.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I absolutely loved this gaming combo. The keyboard is incredibly responsive, and the RGB lighting looks amazing, especially when I’m gaming at night. The mouse is super comfortable, precise, and lightweight—perfect for long sessions without hand fatigue. The mouse pad is a great size and allows the mouse to glide smoothly.

Customer Review: I’ve only clocked a few hours with this set and so far I am pleasantly awed!Keyboard:As one who is generally a “keyboard snob;” I love how smooth the keys are for gaming. It feels different than my preferred typewriter-style boards for work and writing, so it’s refreshing to have an effortless experience for rapid clicks in-game. This keyboard also has a few light color options and my goodness do I LOVE.The overall design is clean, crisp, ergonomic, and pleasing to the eyes. I’m also smitten that the cursor keys’ symbols are rockets, instead of traditional arrows.Mouse:The size is splendid for my hands, responds admirably, and of course I’m a sucker for the multi-color oscillating lights. The one thing that would make this mouse perfect would be back and forth side buttons, but I’m not about to complain.Headset:As long as I remember to take out dangly earrings this headset is comfortable and easy to wear. The mic feels a bit close to the face, but I can be heard clearly in-game, so the design works for its function. I’m impressed by the sound and must have missed the description about ‘deep bass,’ as I was not expecting to hear and feel the drop in my bones!Overall, this [set] exceeded my expectations for the price and recommend for anyone wanting/needing a good accessory-array on a budget.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: The keyboard and mouse ,really great products ,very quiet, pressing the the keys and controls really felt like I was using a $500 gaming set up , i purchased this gaming pack for my daughter ,and she loved it ,only problem was the first pack I got for her the LED lights were faulty, shutting off ,or only lighting 1/2 the key board ,ordered another and did the same thing

Customer Review: Keyboard looks great and works ok for a couple of hours. Then the lights start to flicker and it has to be restarted several times by turning the power on and off. Not sure what to do about that.Edit:Ok, so here is the deal, I finally figured out this thing doesn’t have any indication that it needs charging other than wigging out like I described above. If you plug it up and let it charge a while when you’re using it every few days, (ours gets used a good bit) it works great.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Really excited to get this set for my laptop. I am on the road alot and get to set up in hotels playing on my laptop. needed something neat and smaller to fit in my laptop bag. After days of searching found this set. Love that the usb works for both keyboard and mouse. Love the lights on both, love that they seem to last forever. The ONLY problem I have is the mouse now is nearly unusable, I thought it would work itself out, but seems to have not. The wheel on the mouse doesn’t work like it should, when scrolling it stutters really bad, when trying to game on diablo 4, with the scroll wheel you can zoom in and out, its impossible, it stutters, goes really fast, you scroll one way goes the opposite way. Really bummed about it, guess I am going to have to try another company’s product. I have tried turning it off and on, unplugging the USB dongle, I’ve tried everything, just can’t seem to get the scroll wheel to work. Other than that the mouse works, I just have been dealing with it, trying not to use the scroll options. I’ve tried to get help from amazon to no success. All I want is a mouse that works. Can’t seem to get a refund or maybe a replacement, amazon makes it nearly impossible to contact support. So not sure what I am to do.***********Edit:Since my review, the company has reached out and fixed my issue immediately. Sent me a new mouse and it’s works flawlessly. I will be buying from them again, they didn’t hesitate, they didn’t complain, they offered to make it right and did so immediately.Very very very happy. Thank you!

Customer Review: If you’re looking for a mechanical keyboard that won’t break the bank but feels and looks premium, the RedThunder K84 is a gem. I bought it specifically for its 80% (TKL) design, which gives me so much more desk space for my mouse movements—and I don’t regret it!The typing feel is incredibly tactile and satisfying. The switches respond instantly, making it perfect for both my long work sessions and late-night gaming. Plus, the RGB lighting is vibrant and easily customizable; it gives it that gamer edge without being overwhelming. My verdict: It’s sturdy, comfortable, and has a build quality that easily competes with much more expensive keyboards. An undeniably smart and high-quality purchase!

Customer Review: We bought this keyboard and mouse mainly to use with our TV and PlayStation, and honestly, we’re very happy with it. Everything connected easily, works smoothly, and the battery life is great — we don’t have to think about charging it all the time, which is a big plus. The keyboard isn’t completely silent, but the typing sound is actually very pleasant, not annoying at all. And the backlight… that’s my personal favorite. The colorful lighting looks amazing, especially in the evening — I absolutely love it. The mouse is responsive and comfortable to use, no lag, no issues.I also really liked that a mouse pad was included — we use it daily and it works perfectly. Overall, the set feels well-made, easy to use, and just enjoyable. If you’re looking for a keyboard and mouse to use with a TV or PlayStation, this is a great option.

Customer Review: I bought this for my boyfriend and I’m glad it was so affordable. He said it’s so useful and leaves a lot of room on his desk. His other keyboard was big and took up so much space but now that he has this one he has more room and he loves how it’s wireless his other keyboard was not wireless.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Keyboard is definitely a great thing to have if you want something to be truly wireless. I have been wanting a computer that can play decent amount of games and have a decent computer and this definitely takes the gold for a good budget. It provides both a mouse and keyboard for a decent price and it being wireless is a great touch. The keyboard does feel a bit cheap on material but it feels great when typing. One small concern about this product, is that the keys could rub off overtime. Another thing is that the wrist pad is only for the left hand where you use the gaming portion. It will most likely fade in color overtime. It is very responsive and the light is not too bright where you would need to turn the brightness down but you are able to do it with this keyboard if needed. This is not a mechanical keyboard but it works pretty well. You do not get that loud clicking noise but pretty decent response. For this keyboard there is only one color unfortunately at first which is the rainbow color and the same goes for the mouse even though the box shows multiple colors. I am not entirely sure if the keyboard and mouse colors can be adjusted. The keyboard is a bit short around the keys making it easier to clean in my opinion. And the keys are pretty easy to pop off and clean if needed. The mouse feels great and you can adjust the DPI if needed to make it move very smoothly. It moves very smoothly and has a pretty fast response time. You can adjust it to make it less or more sensitive. It has three settings which is nice. The box it arrives in was rather large but protective. The mouse does benefit with a good mouse pad so be aware of that. The response distance for this keyboard and mouse is about ten feet or so before you start to see a lag or drop in signal. The dongle is also not too big where you have to worry about it taking up too much space. Honestly I put mines in the back and never really notice it. It does not really stick out either where you need to worry about it getting dinged. In terms of gaming, I really enjoy using this. I do not have any issues with response and makes my gaming experience great. The small slots are nice to store my phone and pens. The battery on these two can last a good amount of time without needing to be recharged. It uses the basic USB cables to recharge the device. I would recommend charging it before using it. The cables are a decent length so you can easily plug it into your computer and continue to use it if you wish. Overall I think this keyboard is decent for a budget build or even for a back up gaming keyboard. It feels great and not uncomfortable. The lights make for a great show but I do wish it had a bit more programmable keys.

Customer Review: This wireless gaming keyboard and mouse set is incredible! The rainbow backlit keys look amazing and add a real gaming vibe. The keyboard has a mechanical feel and the removable hand rest makes long sessions comfortable. The mouse is quiet, responsive, and the 7-color lighting is a fun touch. Both devices are rechargeable with a long-lasting 3800mAh battery, and the metal panel gives a premium, durable feel. Perfect for PC gamers—stylish, functional, and super convenient!

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. This is my first gaming Mech Keyboard from Redragon, and so far this being my first, this is the best gaming keyboard I have ever owned.Weight is great. No lag when I game.It has the perfect quietness level, not completely silent but if you were in a echo chamber you would barely hear it (a slight exaggeration but you get the point) 9/10 for quietness. The buttons are perfect and feel great.Keyboard size is perfect for me because I’m a bigger person, my hands side by side spread out cover 95-100% of a regular sized keyboard so I like wide keyboards I don’t like the small ones.Looks great for my first gaming mech keyboard, I don’t have another gaming keyboard to compare it to that I own.RGB colors and modes are great, you can download the software to control the colors and modes off the retail website “Redragon shop” not Redragon Zone” site. The software for this keyboard won’t show up on the zone site, it is only on the shop site and called something else. The mouse works perfectly, no lag and I love the RGB colors. The RGB colors for mouse match the keyboard.Again my hands are big so a majority of mice feel small in my hands this one included. It isn’t a small mouse by any means but for me it could be bigger, which would make it more comfortable.Overall the is a Perfect buy for the price a 10/10. You will not be disappointed.

Customer Review: Works perfectly for my Xbox Series X using the included receiver. I got it for 7 Days to Die because controller on that game is awful. I’ve had issues with wireless keyboards having bad input lag, but with this keyboard it feels like its wired! Same deal with the mouse. I was honestly surprised at the price point. Also, you can change the color of the keyboard (maybe the mouse too?) which is neato. I haven’t had any issues with the battery life. All keys seem to work good, comfortable, and quiet at that. Mouse is spot on and pairs effortlessly with the keyboard. Can’t recommend enough.

Complete Buying Guide for Gaming Keyboard And Mouse

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a gaming keyboard and mouse, prioritize connectivity (wired for zero latency vs. wireless for convenience), switch type (mechanical for tactile feedback or membrane for quiet operation), and DPI range for the mouse. RGB customization, ergonomic design, anti-ghosting technology, and additional features like macro keys or wrist rests also matter. Always check build quality and compatibility with your gaming platform. For peace of mind, review the terms and conditions regarding warranties and returns before purchasing.

Budget Planning

Gaming combos range from under $50 for budget options to over $200 for premium sets. Mid-range models ($50-$100) often offer the best balance of features and durability. Consider long-term value: a higher initial cost may save money on replacements. Factor in potential accessories like mouse pads or headset bundles. Remember to check for discounts and ensure the product comes with a reasonable warranty by reviewing our terms and conditions for purchase protections.

Final Thoughts

The best gaming keyboard and mouse combo depends on your playstyle, space, and budget. Wireless sets offer flexibility, while wired ensure reliability. Prioritize features that enhance your gaming, like adjustable DPI or macro keys. With the options reviewed, you can find a set that boosts performance without overspending. Always buy from reputable sellers to avoid counterfeit products and understand the terms and conditions for a secure transaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Should I choose a wired or wireless gaming keyboard and mouse?

A: Wired peripherals provide zero latency and never need charging, ideal for competitive esports. Wireless options using 2.4GHz or Bluetooth offer desk cleanliness and flexibility, with modern low-latency tech closing the gap. Choose wired for tournament play; wireless for casual or multi-device use. Always check battery life and connectivity stability in reviews.

Q: What DPI should I look for in a gaming mouse?

A: DPI (dots per inch) measures mouse sensitivity. For gaming, 800-3200 DPI is common, with some mice offering up to 10,000+. Lower DPI (400-800) suits precision aiming in shooters, while higher DPI (2000+) allows faster movements. Adjustable DPI is key for versatility across games. Consider your mouse pad size and grip style when selecting.

Q: Are mechanical keyboards better for gaming?

A: Mechanical keyboards offer tactile feedback, durability, and faster actuation, which many gamers prefer for precise keystrokes. Membrane keyboards are quieter and more affordable but may lack the same responsiveness. It’s subjective: try different switch types (e.g., Cherry MX, Redragon optical) to see what fits your style. For long sessions, mechanical often wins.

Q: How important is RGB lighting in gaming peripherals?

A: RGB lighting is primarily aesthetic but can enhance immersion and help with key visibility in dark rooms. Some keyboards use lighting for functional purposes, like highlighting cooldown keys or profiles. If you value customization and visuals, look for software-controlled RGB. Otherwise, single-color backlighting may suffice and save battery.

Q: What should I do if my gaming keyboard or mouse malfunctions?

A: First, consult the manufacturer’s warranty and contact their support. For Amazon purchases, use Amazon’s return or exchange policies within the window. It’s wise to review our terms and conditions for detailed guidance on returns, refunds, and troubleshooting. Keep receipts and packaging for smooth claims.
