I have tried 3 styles of lavalier mics for iPhone/Android/PC/Mac. These have the rectangular, “thumb drive” style mic. These were cheapest I found, that included dead cat windscreens. There is a pretty loud pop/buzz when I turned mute on or off. That is somewhat annoying, but another one I used did the same thing. I recommend NOT having the speaker use the on-mic button and just mute on the device or edit the audio after the fact. The sound quality of these lavs is actually very good for mics this inexpensive.The mics and receiver worked perfectly. I had basically the same experience using Lightning adaptor on iPad, iPhone, as well as USB-C (no adaptor) on Mac and Windows. I’ve done a lot of audio recording, both for work as well as personal (musical instruments, vocals, spoken word (e.g. podcasting and webinars), etc… As an owner of several high end microphones – I can tell you that the industry is flooded with a lot of microphones that *look* expensive, but are really just cheap microphones wrapped in an expensive looking facade. It does a good job of production of the vocal against the spoken EQ band while eliminating ‘essing’ and ‘pops’ – especially with the included covers. I paid about $25 and got two microphones – suitable for podcast interviews – which is what I was looking for. Setup is easy. The mics are already paired with the receiver. Charge both the receiver and mics up and you’re ready to go. Still haven’t run down the initial battery charge and it seems to last a long time. No bluetooth pairing needed as the mics pair to the receiver which plugs directly into the phone. It doesn’t have the vocal depth and fullness of my AT-2020 Condenser mic through my M-Audio interface – but the setup and portability outweigh that for most podcast style recording I’d do.
