Customer Review: “I have been using this mic for 2 years and still going. I needed something to quickly replace my lousy head set mic which introduced a lot of noise. I found this USB Tonor on Amazon after spending hours combing through countless of affordable mics and read enough reviews to convince me to give this one a try. I also bought a separate stand for it so I can maneuver it’s position more efficiently. (the closer it is to your face, the better the sound quality). I use it pretty much every day when I get on Discord or play games like Apex legends, Phasmophobia, etc. I have been told that I sound great! 🙂 I’ve messed around with Audacity and was also pleasantly surprised at how well this mic worked and how it made my voice sound like a radio personality. lol. Accessories: It does come with a removable foam filter and a round pop filter. The only negative here, is the pop filter’s arm. Mine is a bit flimsy and hard to keep in position. One slight tap and it moves. But, this is a very minor issue for me, as I can easily replace it with something a bit more sturdy. In then end however, I simply chose to not use one, as the foam cap was sufficient for my needs. I do wish the pop filter’s arm was removable from the base of the holder, but again, you can also replace the base itself with one that suits you needs. Sound transmission is very good and depends on uninterrupted USB connection. This is the first time I’ve used a USB mic, so I didn’t know what to expect. But it works great on my PC, connected to a USB 3.0 input. My specs for your reference: Motherboard: Asus B-450 F Gaming CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: Corsair 32GB 3600mhz dual channel mode. I also use a good quality braided USB extension cord and have added some ferrite rings at both ends of my USB cords to help reduce any EMI noise, just for good measure. Conclusion: I recommend it. It’s may not be an expensive studio professional grade mic, but it’s remarkably close and excellent for game and Discord use (and live streaming for that matter). The first thing you will notice while using this microphone is how well it rejects background noise around your room due to its cardioid pattern, which means the hiss is non existent. Sound wise, the mic is great for singing and voice overs because the mic does a fantastic job at focusing your voice in the front of the mic. Because it rejects noise from the sides and the back, this helps a lot if your room is not sound proofed, and the tone is not harsh or overly tinny sounding. Your plosives like P/BS are basically non existent if you use proper mic techniques. Overall, the Rode NT1 sounds way more expensive than it actually is. Customer Review: “I’ve done a lot of audio recording, both for work as well as personal (musical instruments, vocals, spoken word (e.g. podcasting and webinars), etc… The most important elements for recording are: Quality of the source, appropriate environment, quality microphone. As an owner of several high end microphones (as well as less expensive options and workhorse mics) – I can tell you that the industry is flooded with a lot of microphones that *look* expensive, but are really just cheap microphones wrapped in an expensive looking facade – which you pay for, but have no impact on recording quality. I tested this microphone alongside some pretty high end set-ups, and found the reproduction for spoken voice / podcasting to be VERY good. It does a good job of production of the vocal against the spoken EQ band while eliminating ‘essing’ and ‘pops’ – especially with the included covers. I paid about $25 and got two microphones – suitable for podcast interviews – which is what I was looking for. A few notes: 1. I haven’t tested for musical audio reproduction, only spoken word – so can’t comment on that just yet. 2. I found that even though designed as a clip on mic – it produces a bit better quality (especially in the bass end of the EQ spectrum) if you point it directly at the speaker. Tip: Easy mic stand is an open hardcover book on it’s side at mouth height and clip the mic to the cover. 3. I tested the receiver at 5 feet away – which is suitable for my needs (using GarageBand on an iPhone 17). Setup is easy. The mics are already paired with the receiver. Charge both the receiver and mics up and you’re ready to go. Still haven’t run down the initial battery charge and it seems to last a long time.
