I haven’t gotten those all figured out just yet and the documentation and user interface aren’t quite intuitive if you’ve never had to set those up and get them actually enabled and working correctly in real life before. They’re not just “plug it in and bask in the full glory” easy yet– you have to make sure you have the right combinations of hardware, cables, drivers, and settings between all the devices and peripherals to take full advantage of those newer features. But 4K crystal clear beautiful brilliance does pretty much work right out of the box, and at this price, even just that is worth having. It takes very little adjusting to get very realistic colors compared to my old calibrated Dell setup. I didn’t even have to delve into the color calibration tool in Windows to get it fairly close to what I prefer in my lighting environment and get my pictures to look almost exactly like they looked in real life when I originally took the pictures. I don’t even feel bad quite yet about not pulling out a hardware calibration tool.So while I haven’t put together all of those pieces in a way that lets me enjoy all the features and functionality of this monitor yet, I am already satisfied with my purchase even if I never take the time to make it all work at peak performance. This is a pretty darn good buy.I’ve even considered picking up another one or two to replace my old 1080P monitor and at least one of my work monitors at the office because of the price to performance ratio. The only reason I haven’t is because I may get my work to buy one or two for me for that, and at home I’m planning to buy one of the top of the line 4K G-Sync quantum dot monitors as my main/gaming monitor once I’ve upgraded my rig to push 4K really well, and it seems silly to me to buy a perfectly good monitor to only use for a few months. These are too good to waste and I don’t have room on my desk for a triple monitor setup, unfortunately, or it’d be a no-brainer.

Secondary displays were not connecting to my computer outside of the office, IT could not figure out the issue so I was doomed to single screen anytime I worked from home. A co-worker suggested I take a look at this style of screen. I had my doubts that it would work with my lap top, and lo and behold I am back in action with a dual display. It comes with an HDMI cord option and a USB-C cord option (you do not need to buy separate cords, they are included). I used the USB-C as it also acts as a power cord to power the display. It took two seconds to hook up, and with one setting change on my lap top the display successfully extended (does not just duplicate your display, it will allow display extension as well). The image quality is more than sufficient for work (no opinion on PC gaming) and settings such as brightness were easy to adjust. It’s the perfect size for use with my lap top screen, and they had plenty of additional size options. The built in stand allows two screen angles, and acts as a cover when not in use. For the price this thing is absolutely clutch, don’t waste money on expensive displays – you can use this with any USB-C capable device so it can travel with you for work or fun. I will be interested to see if it has longevity, but for now I’d give this thing 10 stars if I could.

Customer Review: I saw a video about this monitor being available for $70 on black Friday pricing. By the time I got around to buying it, it was $85. I bought two of them, and I’m very happy, but there’s some caveats I think you should know.This monitor does exactly what it says on the tin… and no more. It has one HDMI and one VGA input (why?) and that’s it. It takes in audio via HDMI and has a headphone out jack, and even has volume control on the control nub, but no speakers. It takes 19v power from a barrel jack, but you can swap that for a 20v supply from a USB-C brick with the right adapter (you want the 6.0×4.4mm barrel).The HDR is rubbish, the VRR works fine. The picture quality is plenty good but not remarkable. The settings are pretty minimal and sane out of the box, you’ll tweak one or two of them and then never touch them again.The stand is a joke. Of the two of these I bought, one of them was missing the 2 required screws to mount the display to the stand. Fortunately, it has a 100x100mm vesa mount on the back, though it doesn’t come with screws for that either. I put mine on monitor arms, and threw out the stands.Basically, if you need a 24″ 1080p 120Hz display, and nothing else, of good quality, for as cheap as possible, this is it. For everything else, you’ll have to pay more.

This time I decided to splurge and get a high-quality calibrated display for photo editing. This one looks terrific and has a *software* control panel to easily switch between modes. Instead of trying to use a bunch of hidden physical buttons on the side, switch from bright and accurate for to a more comfortable all-day mode using your mouse and a menu that makes sense.The main reason I chose this model over other calibrated monitors is the built-in KVM switch: one easy-to-find button switches both the input video source and your USB peripherals from a desktop PC to a laptop. It even charges the laptop at 90w!

Customer Review: Only had this active for a bit over a week but so far it’s quite impressive for the $. I used the stand for only 1.5 days, it is more sturdy than I expected based on other reviews. However as soon as I had time I setup a monitor arm for it so it would be at the same height as my other 27″ screens — which are both iMacs, one 2019 iMac and one 2015 iMac used as a display by replacing the insides with a display driver board. This display is ‘matte’ so it is hard to compare the overall brightness, but it gets plenty bright. I keep the office only moderately lit, but now I notice the reflections on the iMac screens a lot more. Build quality is not Apple level but is better than many no-name and lower end name brand things. Bezel is pretty small, but hardly ‘edge to egde’, about 5mm. Controls and menus are ‘reasonable’, but can control basics from Mac via Ddc using an App like MonitorControl or BetterDisplay.Biggest negative for me is the time to wake from sleep, it’s a solid 9 seconds. The ‘real’ iMac is 2 or less. The modified iMac display is around 6. I’ve tried via all inputs, USB-C and HDMI with a MacMini and DP with an NV Orin Nano, same times.

Customer Review: I bought this as a 2nd monitor for my Mac Studio & Studio Display. I am blown away how good this looks. Equally good vs the Apple monitor that costs nearly 3X. Sharp, fast, great colors and easy to assemble from the box. Downsides are minor: (1) cannot rotate to portrait mode (2) large power brick (which I velcro’d to the back of the monitor) (3) stand is a bit plasticky and not as stable as Apple/Dell. I’m buying a $30 metal stand from Amazon that will fix (1) and (3).Strongly recommended.

Customer Review: This is a nice quality monitor from Viewsonic. First off, I do not play video games, so my review pertains to home and office type use (MS Office, Web browsing, light duty photo editing, etc.). Having a 4K VA panel 32″ monitor in the office, I can honestly say that this 2K IPS 32″ monitor is a better value for the money. While I can still read text at the full 4K resolution, it is simply uncomfortable for a long time. A more pleasant resolution setting I use in the office is somewhere between 2K and 4K (more towards the 2K mark). Given that experience, I went for the 2K IPS monitor of the same 32″ size at home. The IPS panel vs. VA is a whole lot better, esp. with text on the screen; the VA has some slight but noticeable artifacts with text where the IPS is simply clear. The resolution is comfortable and at this 32″ size there is plenty of “real estate”. So, if you are looking inside the $400 price range for a 32″ monitor don’t get fooled by 4K unless you are planning to watch 4K TV on it perhaps? For home/office use, the 2K IPS is not only cheaper (less than $300) but fits the bill much better.I did a lot of researching and then, at work, I was able to get the 32″ 4K VA panel monitor and, to be honest, it is a disappointing experience for office use; I do not run the full 4K resolution and the VA quality just is not as good as the IPS panel. Having the 32″ 2K IPS (this Viewsonic) at home and given my experience with it, I would have requested the same for the office if I had to do it again. So, while 4K is good for some things for others 2K is preferable in my experience. If you get a chance to compare monitors in this price range for home/office use, you may find the same.Viewsonic is also a top notch brand with a 3 yr warranty. This particular model also has the frameless edge. Not only is the picture quality excellent but the monitor has a nice high quality look.

The setup was fairly easy and the entire unit seems to be fairly robust. The graphics and color displays seem to be on point. Since I’m a photographer, I did a little color calibration to be sure, but it didn’t take much time or work to get things right. The response time for menu entries seems fairly snappy and the system seems easy to navigate. There are lots of port options for HDMI (2), Display Port, Mini Display Port, and one audio out if you don’t want to use the built in speakers.I’m not much of a PC gamer, so I can’t speak to that aspect, but overall, I’m happy with the purchases. For the money, it seems to be a really good quality monitor that offers good connectivity and great on-screen performance for the specs. Seems to be a good value overall.
