Customer Review: Love this monitor, true 3840 x 2160p @60hz. The screen is very bright and doesn’t have much glare, probably none at all. Good price too, I ended up buying a second one. I am switching from LG monitors because LG sucks and they make bad products that have poor UI. The power cord is plenty long, I wish it came with a longer HDMI cable like 8 feet vs the 6 foot one that comes with but that might not matter to other customers. I don’t use the stand that comes with it and use pole-mount stands, but I tried on the OEM stand and it was plenty sturdy.

Customer Review: I’ve always like Dell monitors and this one is outstanding. Nice matt colors and very sharp. The 32 inch size is great and any larger would cause me to have to move my head too much. The depth of view is great and viewing angle is excellent. The performance is great and I haven’t run too many games through it yet, but the ones I have are perfect. Nice colors especially the picture setting is very user friendly for gaming, work load and streaming. sound quality plus side it has decent built in speaker which I don’t use snice I have speaker but its a great option for those who don’t have them. Has a friendly user to adjust brightness and HDMI and DVI ports for easy connectivity size wise it’s a nice fit and still mounts on my dual adjustable arms. Wished I purchased 2 of them when it was on sale.

Customer Review: Excellent monitor with crystal clear screen especially good for text reading. Color rendition is fairly good though. Could be a little easier to set up for that application. Starts very quickly. Easily connected to two computers and switches easily back-and-forth. Somewhat cumbersome to use the speakers on the screen, which are very good by the way, because it keeps resetting to the computer speaker every time you shut off the computer. It is substantially larger than the 27 inch iMac, though they’re both rated at 27 inches. The Dell has a much smaller border which gives more screen space. All in all has been a very good purchase. The 4K resolution is much easier on the eye for doing text work. So far, I have found no downside. This is a non-OLED screen, though I cannot tell any difference in the color rendition or clarity when compared with OLED screens by the same company.

Customer Review: I didn’t rate this for gaming because I don’t have a video card to drive a 4K monitor at a good speed yet, but for everything else, it looks brilliant for the money.I’m a working stiff these days, so I don’t have the free time I’d like to have to play around and get everything set up just so, and I found that there are little hurdles and speed bumps along the way with these newer displays if you want to actually USE all of the fancy marketing buzzwords like HDR or Freesync or G-Sync or high frame rates or FALD (full array local dimming). I haven’t gotten those all figured out just yet and the documentation and user interface aren’t quite intuitive if you’ve never had to set those up and get them actually enabled and working correctly in real life before. They’re not just “plug it in and bask in the full glory” easy yet– you have to make sure you have the right combinations of hardware, cables, drivers, and settings between all the devices and peripherals to take full advantage of those newer features. But 4K crystal clear beautiful brilliance does pretty much work right out of the box, and at this price, even just that is worth having. It takes very little adjusting to get very realistic colors compared to my old calibrated Dell setup. I didn’t even have to delve into the color calibration tool in Windows to get it fairly close to what I prefer in my lighting environment and get my pictures to look almost exactly like they looked in real life when I originally took the pictures. I don’t even feel bad quite yet about not pulling out a hardware calibration tool.So while I haven’t put together all of those pieces in a way that lets me enjoy all the features and functionality of this monitor yet, I am already satisfied with my purchase even if I never take the time to make it all work at peak performance. This is a pretty darn good buy.I’ve even considered picking up another one or two to replace my old 1080P monitor and at least one of my work monitors at the office because of the price to performance ratio. The only reason I haven’t is because I may get my work to buy one or two for me for that, and at home I’m planning to buy one of the top of the line 4K G-Sync quantum dot monitors as my main/gaming monitor once I’ve upgraded my rig to push 4K really well, and it seems silly to me to buy a perfectly good monitor to only use for a few months. These are too good to waste and I don’t have room on my desk for a triple monitor setup, unfortunately, or it’d be a no-brainer.

Customer Review: The main drawback I’m experiencing, and imagine most customers would also, isn’t a fault of this product which would be better on other 27″ 4K monitors, but nonetheless if you’re considering buying it you should know this. I got this to upgrade from using a M4 Mac Mini with 3x 1920×1280 monitors; before that I had a 27″ 5K Retina iMac which had a beautiful, highly-rated screen similar to what’s still in their $1599 Studio Display Monitor and the transition back to FHD was too frustrating in terms of screen real estate, how much I could fit onto the monitor. I don’t know if the increased PPI of the display to show more detail in playback of video was an important benefit for me of having the 5K iMac, and admittedly the 5K iMac did take some getting used to because everything was smaller than on the FHD monitors (as to be expected) – but it had incredible flexibility of resizing elements. I always had wondered why Apple went to 5K for just a 27″ monitor, when there’s barely any content available streaming at 4K, as far as I’m aware there isn’t content available in 5K and ofc 5K is a far cry from 8K. NOW I’m pretty sure I understand why they did the 5K retina in 5K – it speaks to the drawback I’m experiencing in 4K at 27″ , its because if you want to scale the resolution to make windows not appear tiny and harder to read on these high-resolution monitors compared to the FHD 1080p monitors. I can’t speak to the experience with Windows, but the principle should hold, so the bottom line here is that upgrading from a 1920×1280 (or 1920×1080) monitor WILL ABSOLUTELY result in the title bars, menu bars, all icons etc being SMALLER, much smaller. On MacOS you can set the resolution to be scaled to 1080p – but then not only are you reverting to the pixel density from which you just upgraded, to me at 2x scaling everything looked too big which compromised my goal of being able to fit more on the screen. Some Reddit posts suggested that selecting the 1080p (scaled) resolution in MacOS would still allow 4K video to be displayed at the high PPI so if that’s true it would be a good solution for customers who only wanted the 4K for the increased detail in video playback.I have decently-young eyes and am sitting just a few inches from the screen, so while annoying I’m going to accept the stuff being smaller because of the terrific newfound ability to fit twice as much on my 27″ screen compared to the 24″ screen it replaces. But if I had the money, I’d instead get the 32″ size – not because 27″ isn’t big enough, it is, and frankly a 32″ monitor would feel overwhelmingly large on my desk, but that size would allow me to use this 4K resolution without the title bar of every window being tiny.Now I will discuss elements of this monitor in the context of comparisons to other 27″ 4K monitors. It is INCREDIBLY thin, and lightweight, that’s a huge plus. I paid a small premium compared to the other 27″ 4K monitors because at $199 to get a Samsung brand monitor seemed smart, in case there is trouble requiring warranty support. The bezel is so thin that – I kid you not – this 27″ monitor’s total size makes it sit side-by-side next to a NEC 24″ and a HP 24″ and they’ve all got approximately the same exterior dimensions! It’s like when I upgraded iPhones recently to one with a slightly (but signifigantly) bigger screen – sitting next to the old iPhone, their exterior dimensions are very similar.I am very bothered about one thing – what’s the deal with the USB-A port? It’s marked as being “Superspeed” (USB3), yet its not mentioned ANYWHERE in the manual! On a Thunderbolt or USB-C monitor (or if it had a USB-B uplink port, like older monitors with built-in hubs) it would make sense to me what it does and how it works, but I’m pretty sure USB data can’t be transfered over any HDMI or DP connection which leads me to assume, given its placement adjacent to the 1/8″ analog headphone output, that its for USB audio. The monitor is so barebones-featurewise that all functionality is controlled by just a single button (stick) on the backside of the monitor (you must reach under, and around, which is OK except that you may not know its there) and yet they opted to have audio outputs. Perhaps this is for devices that don’t have 1/8″ analog audio output, or USB-A supporting audio, if you connect say a new iPad or iPhone to it and want your audio to come out of headphones/speakers, I suppose that would be very appreciated.The image is really nice. I read countless reviews complaining that each time the monitor turns on, or wakes from sleep, that it would show some stupid OSD or other unwanted functionality, but I have yet to see any behavior that bothers me. The OSD message goes away pretty quickly from a cold start. There was a complaint by someone who intended to use the monitor with two devices (such as a computer AND a video game console) always plugged in, expecting to be able to easily switch between inputs using the monitor’s controls as is very easy to do on many monitors, and I agree this isn’t the best model for that.It seemed inconsequential that the monitor comes with a HDMI cable included, but this is actually an important aspect because I realized quickly that all the HDMI cables I already had couldn’t supply it with 4K video (FHD max). It’s annoying that HDMI cables aren’t labeled for which version they are, but suitably the included cable is HDMI 2.0 at least.

I have a small table so I was worried about the size, BUT the small base is a lifesaver and also has a smartphone holder which I’ve never seen on a monitor before, as well as a super convenient USB-C charging port. While setting it up, I noticed the tripod socket on top of the vertical stand which is perfect for my webcam / lighting setup.Once I had it set up via the Display Port 1.4 option, I couldn’t believe how good the quality was. Customer Review: Been using the standard (no USB-C ports) monitor for a couple days now, and I’m super impressed.Let’s get the negatives out the way up front: The standard, cheaper version has no USB connectivity. I wish the silver stand and white cables were black instead. I wish it had even a basic set of built-in stereo speakers. Response times and refresh rates are decidedly unimpressive, but if you’re not a gamer, you really won’t notice or care.For me, these aren’t deal breakers for a display that otherwise gives you so much at such a good price point.OK, let’s move on to the long list of positives: Super easy to assemble, comes with HDMI and display port cables, very easy to connect on the back vs. bottom. The raise/lower and tilt stand is fantastic for dialing in a great viewing angle. The matte screen handles overhead light and ambient light superbly – annoying glare and reflections are exceptionally well managed. Straight out the box, brightness and contrast are fairly high and good if you like things punchy; color temp is a tad warm to be easier on the eyes. It’s super easily adjusted if you prefer a bit cooler and even more accurate and there are many other profiles you can try to match what works best for you – the nice joystick based control on the bottom front lip of the monitor is great and IMO preferable to the buttons you have to reach around back or bottom edges for on other displays. I’ve done a fair bit of photo editing (not as a pro colorist, just an experienced hobbyist) and the reach the monitor has into shadows and highlights is very good. Gamut coverage is superb at this price point. No dead pixels. What more could you ask for, really?Conclusion: If you’re not a gamer, don’t require built-in speakers or USB-C, and want to get a great display at a great price, put it in your cart and buy it now. You won’t regret it.
