Customer Reviews
Customer Review: The MNN 15.6” FHD portable monitor worked great as a second display for the HDMI method. Setup was simple and connected without any issues. The 1080P resolution looks sharp, and you can easily adjust the brightness to fit your environment. It even comes with built-in speakers, which is a nice bonus, though the audio quality is mid and not something I’d rely on long term. Overall, slim, lightweight, and a solid option if you need a reliable secondary monitor.
Customer Review: I was losing my mind trying to work from home off a single laptop screen. Secondary displays were not connecting to my computer outside of the office, IT could not figure out the issue so I was doomed to single screen anytime I worked from home. A co-worker suggested I take a look at this style of screen. I had my doubts that it would work with my lap top, and lo and behold I am back in action with a dual display. It comes with an HDMI cord option and a USB-C cord option (you do not need to buy separate cords, they are included). I used the USB-C as it also acts as a power cord to power the display. It took two seconds to hook up, and with one setting change on my lap top the display successfully extended (does not just duplicate your display, it will allow display extension as well). The image quality is more than sufficient for work (no opinion on PC gaming) and settings such as brightness were easy to adjust. It’s the perfect size for use with my lap top screen, and they had plenty of additional size options. The built in stand allows two screen angles, and acts as a cover when not in use. For the price this thing is absolutely clutch, don’t waste money on expensive displays – you can use this with any USB-C capable device so it can travel with you for work or fun. I will be interested to see if it has longevity, but for now I’d give this thing 10 stars if I could.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Does exactly what I need it to. I needed a smaller second monitor for my MacBook Air. Screen quality is good. It functions as intended and connections are easy to use. Love that it has an on/off button. I haven’t noticed any color issues. I would not recommend this monitor for a designer, but as a copywriter, it gets the job done. I generally need a second screen to research what I’m writing and this has been wonderful for that. It’s a great value for what you get. No complaints other than I wish I had a bigger space to have a bigger screen size, but that’s more of a me problem. LOL I would def buy this brand again. I don’t even remember assembling it which tells me it must have been very easy.
Customer Review: The monitor works as intended. Decent screen and graphics appear just fine. Great for a 2nd monitor, which is why I purchased it.

Complete Buying Guide for Best Computer Monitors For Mac
Essential Factors We Consider
Choosing the right monitor for your Mac involves balancing several key factors. Resolution is paramount: for screens 27 inches and above, 4K (3840×2160) or at least QHD/WQHD (2560×1440/3440×1440) is recommended to match the sharpness of a MacBook’s Retina display. Panel type matters: IPS panels offer the best color accuracy and wide viewing angles, crucial for creative work. Connectivity is critical—look for monitors with USB-C ports that support Power Delivery. This allows you to charge your MacBook and transmit video/audio with a single cable, creating a clean, cable-free desk. Color gamut (look for sRGB, AdobeRGB, DCI-P3 coverage) determines how many colors the monitor can display, vital for photo/video editors. Finally, consider refresh rate (60Hz is standard, 75Hz+ is smoother) and ergonomics (height, tilt, swivel adjustment).
Budget Planning
Your budget will dictate your priorities. Under $200: You can find excellent 24-27 inch 1080p monitors with high refresh rates (like the Westinghouse) or compact secondary displays. These are perfect for general use and light gaming. $200 – $500: This is the sweet spot for most Mac users. You can get a beautiful 27-inch 4K IPS monitor (like the LG Ultrafine) or a large, smooth 32-inch 1080p/75Hz panel. Focus on USB-C connectivity and color accuracy here. $500+: For professionals, invest in ultrawide monitors with high resolution (UWQHD), exceptional color coverage (99%+ DCI-P3), and premium build. Features like HDR, built-in speakers, and smart TV platforms become common at this tier.
Final Thoughts
Pairing your Mac with the right monitor is one of the most impactful upgrades you can make. It extends your digital workspace, reduces eye strain, and can dramatically improve your workflow. Don’t just buy the biggest or cheapest screen; think about how you use your Mac. A creative needs color accuracy. A coder needs screen real estate. A traveler needs portability. Use this guide to match your primary use case with a monitor that excels in that area. Remember, a great monitor is an investment that will serve you faithfully for years.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a 4K monitor for my Mac?
A: While not strictly necessary, a 4K monitor is highly recommended for Mac users, especially those with MacBooks featuring Retina displays. The pixel density of 4K (especially at 27 inches) provides text and images that are significantly sharper and more comparable to your MacBook’s built-in screen, reducing the “fuzziness” often seen with 1080p monitors. For professional photo/video work, 4K is essential.
Q: Why is USB-C with Power Delivery so important?
A: A USB-C port that supports Power Delivery (PD) allows you to charge your MacBook directly from the monitor using the same cable that carries the video signal. This eliminates the need for two separate cables (one for video, one for charging), creating a much cleaner, simpler desk setup. It’s the closest you can get to the minimalist experience of a single-cable iMac.
Q: Can I use a gaming monitor with my Mac for productivity?
Q: Should I get a curved or flat monitor for my Mac?
A: This is personal preference. Curved monitors (like the Samsung or Z-Edge) wrap around your field of view, creating a more immersive experience and can be more comfortable for long sessions by reducing eye movement. They are excellent for single, large screens. Flat monitors are the traditional choice and are often preferred for multi-monitor setups where screens are placed side-by-side, as curves can create a slight “warp” at the edges where monitors meet. For a single, large primary display, a curve is often more engaging.
Q: What refresh rate is best for a Mac used for office work?
A: For general productivity (web browsing, documents, email), a standard 60Hz monitor is perfectly adequate. However, upgrading to a 75Hz or 100Hz monitor (like the Samsung S366 or Philips) provides a noticeably smoother experience when scrolling through long web pages or documents. The improvement is subtle but significant for comfort. For gaming or video editing, 120Hz+ is ideal.
