The hex tools came with the stand, but you just need a Nr 2 Phillips Screwdriver for the bolts mounting the VESA plate to the monitor. Take note that this stand has a heavy base to hold larger/heavier monitors up to 22 lbs, but does not take a lot of space. I chose this variant so that it could handle my heavy 24-inch Planar monitor. The included cable management clip was a nice touch. Rotation and tilt feature moves easily and has decent range. I am a digital artist and while I don’t use this monitor for that purpose, I know what to look for and how to test. If this is what you want, feel free to ignore the rest of my review and proceed to purchase the sRGB 100% version I bought.Before I go on, a note about the blinking on and off issue some others report: IT REQUIRES POWER. Oy vey. To be fair, unlike some of this monitor’s cousins, this monitor does not come with a power adapter. That said, it should require a 15w, 5v connector or Power Delivery brick. Either should work. I’m using a cheap PD one. They’re easy to find here if you need one, or use an old laptop charger that has Power Delivery. The power delivered over HDMI is NOT sufficent and if you read the troubleshooting portion of the digital only manual, this is quite clear.Now, the negatives:- The stand arm covers the ports when closed, but it can be closed in the OPPOSITE direction. Not a big deal- VESA mount holes are only two, not the full four. Again, not a big deal and very common on portable monitors.- The menu buttons are a little small and awkward. Nice, clean design though! And you won’t be messing with them THAT much and they’re really not that bad. I prefer this to accidentally pressing a button like on some other designs.- The gamut is actually 86% of sRGB and 102% gamut volume coverage; this is standard, but just know that while it can show the full range of the sRGB gamut (and then some), it is slightly off in a small number of places. Your eye will NOT be able to tell the difference, and even on my expensive art monitors, this is common.- It does not come with a power brick, so you must provide your own. A 5v 2a phone charger may work. Again, not a big deal for the price; you’re going to collect power bricks over time anyway if you haven’t already.None of these are deal breakers. I love this monitor. I wish it had touch, but I value picture quality over a touch interface and I knew what I was getting: a quality monitor from a semi-name brand.You get exactly what you think you’re getting. Have the bare basic technological knowledge to, you know, plug it in, and it will serve you well. Insanely good monitor for the price. Working off a 14″ HP G6 Elitebook (this works for any 13″-17″ laptop) from home to finish up odds and ends from work at the office, I guess I never realized how having additional monitors can have. I have 2 large monitors at work and it’s been something I guess I took for granted. But now that I have 2 additional monitors at home that’s compact, portable, and installable in seconds, I’ve actually looked forward to finishing my work at home because it’s that much easier. The 11.6″ screens are much smaller though so you have to get used to that aspect, but relative to my already smaller laptop the adjunct screens are just fine. I’ve seen people knock the screen size, but it’s clear from the picture and the product specs that it’s expected. Pros: I appreciated the packaging came with all the necessary cables to make the connections. I also really appreciated the description of compatibility of ports because it helped me take inventory of what my laptop had or needed before I purchased. Luckily, I didn’t need any additional ports or lines. I had 2 USB-C ports to connect the screens. I loved the fact that it was literally plug and play. Didn’t have to install any drivers or other hardware. The spring-load frame expands to hug and fit any laptop screen again 13″-17″ and I was up and running in a couple of minutes. I didn’t need any instructions because literally I located 2 USB-C cords and plugged them in and boom it was on. I did have to go to my settings and under ‘display’ I had to select the ‘extend desktop to this display option’ and not the duplicate options. I could’ve used the HDMI cables to connect as well because 2 were also included, but I didn’t because the cords were longer/thicker and I wanted a cleaner looking workstation with less cable presence around. Customer Review: “Leaving a product review isn’t something I do often, but when I stumbled upon this portable external screen while browsing Amazon’s selection of 3C products, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. As someone who frequently travels for work, I often find myself missing the convenience of an external screen when using my work laptop in a hotel room.In general, this product is great – a brilliant idea that addresses my needs. I bought the 14-inch one so it works with both my work (13″) and personal MBP (14″). As you can see from figures 1 and 2, it looks good with both devices. While the product description suggests it doesn’t work with Apple silicon M1 or M2, I was surprised to find it fully functional with my M1 MBP. I can’t vouch for its compatibility with M2 though.Setting up the screen is straightforward with just one usb-c cable (see Figure 5). USB-A and HDMI options are also available with separate cables. Attaching it to my laptop screen is simple with the soft rubber (or silicon) clips that securely hold it in place without any risk of damaging the laptop screen. These clips feel sturdy and reliable.Now, let’s talk about the screen’s quality, particularly its resolution and refresh rate. It’s 1080p resolution, which, while not crystal clear as my 2K and 4K displays at home, delivers more than acceptable results. In Figure 3 and 4, you can compare the retina display of the MacBook Pro with the S1 screen.However, I do have suggestions and ideas for product improvements. For instance, the alignment of the screen with the laptop screen could be more precise, especially for those who are picky. When using the top clip, the screen tends to sit slightly higher than the laptop (as shown in Figure 6).Another potential enhancement could be adding a support footing at the rear end of the screen. This would be really useful when opening the laptop at a wider angle, as it would prevent the entire weight of the screen from resting on the laptop screen itself (as shown in Figure 7).Lastly, the package is secure while not over-packaging. The included handbag has a side pocket to store the cable. Customer Review: “This laptop screen extender is freaking awesome! Never had a screen extender before, only have dual monitor setup on my PC, so this is crazy cool. Right when I opened the box, everything was neatly and tightly packed. There are a total of 3 screens and your own laptop makes it 4. The cables are provided for use by 2 methods, either USB-C connection or a USB-A connection. You plug the extender into the outlet and the extender itself for power, then another cable from the extender to your laptop for video. It’s compatible with Windows and Mac. They provide a free (i guess we paid for it) 4GB flash drive, which houses the driver if you need to manually install the driver, but the driver is self installing as soon as you plug the screens into your laptop (since I have a Windows, idk if it self installs on Mac) Then you just need to restart your laptop and then go into your display settings and extend monitors 1/2 for the laptop to recognize all 4 screens. Everything feels solid, rigid and worth the money in my opinion. There are brightness settings on the front of the main extender part for each monitor which is cool. I have pictures attached with my review. Can’t wait to multitask! :)P. S. Has very clear instructions, and a backstand, oh and a very nice carrying bag!”

I was satisfied before, but this is notably brighter with better whites and contrast. What really amazed me is the more robust construction of the stand, including both height and angle adjustments. And it was a lot less money than the last similar monitor I bought in 2020. I don’t use the internal speakers, but that’s a plus as well. They’re adequate for voice, but good external speakers are still a big plus. All in all, this represents a very nice quality product at a great price.”

Customer Review: “Great quality for the price. I attached several pics and a video of it mounted to my electric sit/stand desk. I did order a thick metal plate designed for these mounts to sandwich on the desk being that my desktop is particle board I was concerned it would snap the desk where it clamps on at. I’m running 3 older 24″ dell IPS monitors that are a bit heavier than most newer monitors and it handles them just fine. The gas powered arms were a little tricky to get adjusted just right and I still have one that needs some tweaks. When I adjust the screen menus with the screen buttons the monitor will slightly raise up on its own. Kinda annoying but I have not found a way to lock the arms in place once you have them setup the way you like. There is also only one screw underneath on the clamp and can be somewhat difficult to get tightened as the entire unit wants to turn. There are other units out there with dual screws that look like they would work better and prevent the headache of turning the entire setup when tightening. Not to mention they seem more secure. The cable management is great as I have two separate inputs going to each monitor and the power cable. All fit nicely in the sleeves and clips. Lastly there are no input plugs on this stand. Not really a con as you can clearly see that in the pictures and not docking any stars for it either. However there are other units out there that have built in USB ports, mic ports, etc that run around this same price point. All in for the price I would absolutely buy again and has been rock solid for a little over a month now with my sit/stand moving up and down multiple times a day with no wobble. Oh and the detachable vesa mounts that just clip into the arms are an amazing thing when installing your monitors. Just buy it. Hahaha”
