I went with ThermalRight because I have ThermalRight ssd heatsinks with pwm fans and they have lasted 3 years not a single issue. Well needless to say my doubts have been cleared. I have an i9 12900k LGA1700 socket, one of the hottest running consumer chips. This little 120 mm aio is holding it in check quite nice. Idle temps are 36°c to 38°c and under medium loads it may hit 62°c. Heavy loads 65°c to 72°c. The heavy loads im referencing are AI LLM and AI Training. I run the fans at 100% at all times and the noise is negligible at most. You “hear” the fan and pump but its that low soft hum that really to me is a peace of mind to hear. It is compatible for intel and amd for several socket models. It comes with all necessary mounting hardware and they even throw in their name thermal paste. I use Artic mx-7, but i have heard good reviews on ThermalRights, so i kept it for back up purposes. Im very impressed and have to say ThermalRight is a good company! Install was a breeze. I didnt even need the manual. The manual is in Japanese or Chinese, but it had very easy to follow pictures, so anyone should be able to install it. Customer Review: 2nd one I’ve purchased, and for this price, if you have the room for it in your case, I don’t know why you would buy an air cooler. It’s quiet, easy to install, great looking ARGB, everything needed comes in the box (even a small tube of thermal paste which is enough for 1 application, although I used paste I already had). Purchased my first one in July 2024 to cool a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and it kept that cpu around 70°c under my most intensive usage scenario, even in the hottest room in my house during summer( 80°f + ambient temp) using Corsair TM70 paste. Several months ago, I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and the cooler is performing great on this cpu with temps in the 75° range under full load on extended Cinebench R23 stress tests, and closer to 60° on even the most CPU intesive games I have in my steam library. 19 months with no issues, and great temps! Recently purchased another for my step son’s new PC after trying to use the stock AMD cooler on a Ryzen 5 5600X and watching temps hit 90° in cinebench. We decided to spring for the Aqua Elite 240, and since then, temps are staying in the 60° – 65° range during stress tests, and in the 50’s during gaming using Arctic MX-4 paste (which I think I may use to re-paste my 7800X3D in the future, since it performs better than the TM70). I recommend this to anyone looking for really good cooling at an affordable price. The only reason I’d get a different AIO would be to have something flashy like a mini lcd on the cpu block that shows the temperature or cpu usage or whatever, which is totally unnecessary, but I can’t resist shiny objects lol. The fans on the AIO are a bit loud at full-speed, but at 50% or lower are completely unnoticeable (at least with the level of background noise in my room). I have provided a picture of the temperatures of an overclocked i9-9900k at idle after (please note that the max temperatures shown in the image reflect the highest temperatures seen running benchmark tests on a few games like Far Cry 5). As anyone should tell you, pictures of core temperatures alone are useless without information about ambient temperature. I am using a Rosewill Spectra C100 case with great airflow inside of a room with ambient temperatures of 67F. This means that, at the 4GHz clock shown, the AIO has almost successfully cooled the CPU to surrounding air temperature at low loads. For gaming, I rarely feel the need to push the CPU beyond 4GHz as I game at 4k and receive little benefit from higher clockspeeds (GPU bottleneck with an RTX 2080 Ti). For professional work outside of gaming, I do push clock speeds to 5 GHz on all cores, particularly when I’m doing rendering work. In these professional workloads, I have never seen the temperature exceed the low-mid 80’s on any core – perfectly acceptable for such a powerful overclock and high loads, multi-core loads. In terms of gaming, I rarely see my temperatures exceed the mid 50’s. Now, for the bad – the setup! I’m an electrical engineer and it took me some amount of time to decipher the included instructions and figure out how to set up the RGB controller correctly (this thing includes an absurd number of wires – be ready to manage them). Once this was done, though, it does appear that the system does an okay job at interacting with MSI Mystic Light, and the pre-programmed RGB patterns are fine.
